Sinus, Ear Infection and Candida
Sinus and ear infections are more frequent when a person has Candida overgrowth. This is partly due to the increased incidence of food allergies associated with Candida overgrowth and poor intestinal flora. Food allergies, especially to milk, seem to be a factor in frequent sinus and ear infections. If there is a fungal or viral infection in the intestines, this suppresses the cell-mediated immunity. This makes it more likely that a person will suffer a fungal infection of the sinuses or ears. Sinus infections that last for several months or longer are usually associated with fungus rather than a bacterial infection.
