Threelac
Out of desperation I ordered a few things from the internet. Threelac (incl. oxygen & enzymes)
Garlic Tablets
Digestive Aid (herbal: to control flatulence)
A good probiotic
At the moment I am taking Lamisil for Athletes Foot (been taking it for 2 weeks). I also took a one tablet dose (150mg) of Diflucan that apparently clears up thrush )I had a mild case so it did. However, I got terrible diarrhea and had to leave work mid-way through the day (I used to get a little diarrhea before I went on the candida diet but not so much anymore - more on the constipated side). The diarrhorea lasted about three days as my stomach was quite upset by the whole ordeal. So I am a little fearful to go on the diflucan permanently unless nothing else works.
I was wondering whether Threelac has a high success rate or not and if I take Threelac - can I take Lamisil and other digestive aids and probiotics at the same time?????
Any advice on how to take the treatment?
Thanks in advance
Hi Nicky,
A few things. 3-lac IS a probiotic, so you don't need to take pro-b's too. But, it is probably a kind of highly touted product that may not always live up to expectation. Some have claimed it helped or cured them, others have claimed the opposite, so like everything else in Candida-land, how successful a product may be depends more on your body's current state of health and how it responds to the product rather than the product's innate effectiveness. Everything is effective for someone, but nothing seems to be effective for everyone, and the only way to know is to try. Frustrating, but true.
Another thing is, I really dont think anyone should be on any antifungal permanently (with the only exception POSSIBLY being Candex). And diflucan is especially hard on the liver, so I would never want to see soemone on that one for longer than a few weeks. Of course, if your doc feels otherwise, that is another story, but I would really think about it. If one if using antifungals to keep candida at bay, IMHO, the liver will eventually have problems. This happeneed to me, and I am still digging out from under it. Unless you are also doing stuff like alkalizing, supporting the liver function, and cleansing colon, etc., no matter how long you are on an antifungal, when you go off, if the terrain has not improved, you will likely relapse, and believe me, 2nd time around is harder to overcome than first time.
So, since you have it anyway, go ahead and see if 3-lac helps, you may be one of the ones who benefit greatly form it, but watch out for signs of intolerance.
Good luck!
Thanks a lot for your comments. I suppose different treatments work for different people. It must be heart-breaking for those who take these products thinking that it will be a quick fix and then treatment doesn't work. Naturally, I hope that it is a quick fix, but deep down I know it will be the start of my over all treatment of candida.
I think the worst symptom of all for me is flatulence - I'm in my twenties and female and I don't think that it is attractive to have this problem. Lately, I have been isolating myself from social situations so I at least expect this symptom to be relieved somewhat with the treatment. That is all I am hoping for. For me all of the other symptoms are minor and are tolerable.
Thanks again
