Does Threelac work?
Hi, This is my first time on here, because, at last, I've just been diagnosed with candida. In some ways I'm relieved, in others I'm frightened, that I'm never going to get rid of it and never going to have a 'normal' life again.
Anyway, one thing that has been getting to me is, candida patients are meant to have lots of protein right? But everything I've read says that you can't eat soya or legumes (beans) - which, for me, being a vegetarian, is going to be a complete nightmare.
Are there any other veges out there? Any books you can recommend? I'm bored of steamed veg and salads already.
Also, does Threelac work?
Thanks

I think that beans in moderation are okay)you could try taking an enzyme specifically for beans when you eat them. Can you eat organic eggs? I also think that organic fermented soy would be okay in moderation. There are some good protein powders out there. I have about four different types that I vary. They are made from brown rice, pea and bean protein, whey protein and I use soy milk as a base for drinks. These are all good sources of protein. IF you go to some raw foods web sites or hacares.com, they should have some suggestions for protein. The people at hacres.com are also strict vegatarians. they get most of their protein from vegetables and seeds and nuts. They do advocate taking b 12 AND FOLIC ACIDsupplements though as they have found that many of their members were deficient due to a vegetarian diet. I took a class from them and learned alot. I dont know that I advocate this entirely but I think that their is alot of validity to it.
It is important when buying whey protein that you get a good organic source.
"timeless secrets of health and rejuvenation" by Andreas Moritz. explains very clearly how to recover your health. best health book i have seen.
Does Three Lac work? I tried a box, and I would say that it did cause a candida die off. I would also say that Three Lac is quite expensive, and that there are products possibly equally effective for a lot less money. In fact, I would say a low carb diet does most of the work in controlling candida.
This week I started cultured vegetables(Body Ecology) and kefir(Gem Cutlures). These products allow you to a have a vitually unlimited supply of very low cost, fresh, high quality pro-biotics. I am just coming out of a week long die off from the cultured vegetables and kefir. For the first time in six months, my body temp is back to normal. I have been able to cut my Synthoid dose in half.
I'm optimist that the end is in sight.
I ate beans(and meat) when dealing with flora imbalance that included candida overgrowth. Just didn't pig out on them. If you are already vegetarian, how did you arrive with a symptom(candida is a symptom not the root problem) of an unhealthy diet? Antibiotics? Hope you don't mind me asking but being vegetarian is often what folks see heralded as the way to avoid such things as candida. Think vegetarians can go too alkaline and find themselves ill, though.
Never used Threelac and can't help you there. Don't like soy much either but did have tofu now and then when doing the "candida shuffle". :-)
JOyce, have you ever read any thing about hacres?
