Dr. Sherry Rogers

~message to Polly Please tell me what you know about Dr. Sherry Rogers in Syracuse. I am desperate, having suffered from numerous symptoms for fifteen years now. I need some serious help, as I am getting suicidal. I cannot take much more of this. Thank you.
Re: Sherry Rogers Dr. Sherry Rogers has written many outstanding books on the subject of healing. One of our frequent members (Sally) at this website went to Dr. Rogers and found her excellent. Sally also posted this summary of Roger's books:

No More HeartburnThis is her most recent book. It concentrates on the digestive tract, includes methods to diagnose and options to treat many common digestive problems. It has an excellent section on candida and lists what are the best supplements to treat each problem and where to get them. It also lets you know when you need a doctor and what you can treat yourself. This book is a must have!

E.I. SyndromeThis book on Environmental Illness covers allergies, chemical sensitivities, candida, nutritional deficiencies, and toxins.

Tired or ToxicMore on allergies but is packed with many inexpensive changes that you can make to improve your home environment. Fully referenced it emphasizes common medical blunders in conventional treatment of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, osteoporosis and how common drugs promote the disease process.

Depression Cured at LastConcentrates on causes and cures in the area of brain function. Goes in depth on the role of nutritional deficiencies and the current inefficient standards to establish them.

Macro MellowIntroduction to the macrobiotic transition diet, great for high cholesterol and heart disease. Creative menus allow cooking one meal that the whole family will enjoy.

You Are What You AteModified macrobiotics for candida, chemically sensitive, mysterious undiagnosable illnesses, or allergies.

The Cure is in the KitchenThe full macro diet including healing stage diet that is renowned for curing cancers. Dr. Rogers consulted and studied with Michio Kushi to develop this program.

Wellness Against All OddsThe mechanisms of healing the impossible including end stage cancers, after exhausting all that medicine has to offer- complete with scientific references. (For the most severely ill)

Chemical Sensitivity48 page booklet with scientific references is a good introduction to the subject and can be used to educate your physician or insurance company.

The Scientific Basis for Selected Environmental Medicine TechniquesSmall book containing scientific evidence and references that validate treatment methods. Good primer for those who seek treatment rather than masking symptoms with drugs. Usable as evidence in insurance disputes or in educating school personnel, attorneys, and doctors.

Re: message to Polly jenna,

what are your symptoms?
Re: Sherry Rogers Thank you. Can I contact this person who went to see her? I know Dr. Rogers has written alot of books, but my problems are too severe to just follow a book to get well. I need someone to consistently see me on a regular basis. Does Dr. Rogers have openings or is she totally booked up? Has she taken severe cases? Thanks for your help.
Re: message to Polly Too many to list. I know I have viruses, parasites and candida. It has also affected the brain and neurological functioning, which makes matters alot worse. I am at the end of my rope, and need someone to help me after too many doctors guessing....
Re: message to Polly have you considered lyme disease.

candida overgrowth, viruses, heavy metal toxicity, chemical sensitivities, MANY neurological problemsincluding brain fog, depression, bumping into things, and dropping things, joint pain, muscle pain, lung infections, sinus problems, floaters, and more are common symptoms of lyme/coinfections.

have you ever been bitten by tick? have you lived with anyone with similar health problems? do any other family members have similar problems?

lyme is ridiculously underdiagnosed, as most establishment doctors have NO CLUE how common it is or how to properly diagnose it. you simply can't rely on traditional allopathic paths to track it down. you need to seek out help in finding out if you have it.

unfortunately, it appears the vast majority of folks with lyme never developed this lyme rash we here about, and most don't even know they were bit by a tick in the first place. most of these people walk around for years or decades with their health slowly deteriorating, and in many cases these people come to realize they have candida and viruses before they figure out they have lyme and/or other tick infections.
this is what happend to me.

i highly recommend that ANYONE with chronic health problems seek out help in determining if lyme is a problem. And i don't care what name has been applied to the illness, be it MS, alzheimers, parkinson's, candida, cancer, what have you. for instance, recent research has shown that a cyst form of the lyme bacteria is TEAMING in the brains tissue of autopsied alzheimers patients. The lyme bacteria can penetrate ANY tissue and depending on which tissues are effected and to what degree, the symptoms can vary tremendously.

Re: message to Polly I second dpd's recommendation to test for Lyme. I treated Candida & parasites for about 15 years only to find out it was truly Lyme. It was such a shock that I think it put me in denial for a little while.

Regarding staph/strep jenna,

i notice your post regarding ocd. notice that staph and strep infections are also common coinfections of lyme. lyme suppresses the immune system, and over time the patient starts to develop numerous low to medium grade infections, including staph/strep, fungal infections, giaria is common, and so are many worm infections including tape worms and liver flukes and others.

i'm hopeful that large doses of olive leaf extract combined with colloidal silver can at least help with the staph/strep. as your immune system rebounds from lyme treatments, apparently the staph/strep and other infections become easier to combat.
Re: Regarding staph/strep interesting about the lyme/staph connection....

i was dx with a 4+ staph infection and the herb uva ursi took care of this for me
Re: message to Polly Does a naturopath test for lyme's or do you go to a medical lab through a medical doctor? I have heard of strep causing OCD as well and didn't know it was possibly connected to lyme's. I will check into it.
Re: message to Polly Hi jenna,

It made me sad reading your post.... I really feel for you.

Have you read any of Dr. Rogers books?? I have always credited them with helping to save my life - seriously, they gave me hope and a chance at a normal life again.

I really think at my worst, most folks would have checked out if they had to endure my hell for just an hour.

I have never actually worked with Dr. Rogers, but I know she does phone consults. I've heard that she likes all of her patients to read her books as they have so much instructive info and she wants to be able to work off of that...

I also support dpd and pace's recommendations to consider lyme disease (even if it sounds kinda implausible).

Another suggestion, since it can be such a battle to keep yourself in a positive frame of mind for healing, is self hypnosis. I found using cd's to be an invaluable crutch in my weakest moments and I cannot say enough how powerful they have been in my healing.

Hang in there. There IS hope and we are all rooting for you....

Re: Sherry Rogers hi jenna,

i just noticed your post here (i wrote a reply below)

just wanted to say that dr. rogers is *known* for taking the worst cases. it is her forte or claim to fame.

as i mentioned in my post though, she likes all of her patients to read her books. to put it more bluntly, she does not care to work with patients who don't.

hope this helps.

best, shari

Re: Regarding staph/strep thanks shari,

i think i'll try uva ursi and see what happens.
Re: Sherry Rogers Thanks, but unfortunately, she is not taking any more patients. So I am back to square one - story of my life
Re: message to Polly Thanks so much Shari. I will try and stay positive. If it were only fatigue/viral symptoms involved, I could handle it, as I am used to living that way, but when you add in neurological symptoms, it is pretty much hell on earth. I wish there was a doctor somewhere who had all the answers....
Re: message to Polly I know.. it is tough piecing it all together. Rogers books are really so helpful though.

Maybe you can just take the pressure off of yourself to come up with the perfect plan or whatever, and just try to relax with her books and see how much you can absorb. They are filled with anecdotes that are very inspiring and motivating and can really help you believe there is hope. I clung to these when I felt so alone and in the dark, I would read them over and over just to hang in there, and now I could probably be one of those stories...

Neuro problems suck pretty bad, I know. In my experience they are toxin related... as you reduce your toxic load (infections, pesticides, metals), they magically diminish and disappear.

So sorry to hear that dr rogers isn't accepting new patients :(

You will be ok though. As dr rogers like to say, there are 1000 ways to heal..

hang in there,

shari

Re: Regarding staph/strep good luck to ya :)
Re: Regarding staph/strep btw you probably know this, but uva ursi also antifungal

i didn't even take much (became allergic) and it still appeared to wipe out a lot of infection

it does seem like a good one for everyone to try

Re: message to Polly Hang in there. Don't give up. Things will get better....trust me. Best of luck to you. HUGS!!
Re: message to Polly Hugs to you too. Thanks.
