Biolab Tests

Biolab Tests to Ann (UK) Hi Ann,

What Biolab tests have you had and what did the results tell you/help you with?

Many thanks,

Re: April (UK)
April, My first doctor ordered Essential Fatty Acids - red cells, it was perfect, so were B vitamins although a little low on B6 (soon corrected this) Fat Cell Biopsy Toxic Effects Screen (liver) 50% damage to band of liver enzymes, consistant with exposure to a toxic metal, Lymphocyte Sensitivity Test, very sensitive to mercury and even moreso Nickel. Fat Cell Biopsy showed raised levels of LOTS of nasty chemicals in my body, the result of someone constantly burning trade waste at our house. Although i consulted with this doc many times in York he never really threw any light on how i could regain my health, other than to use a IR Sauna to sweat the chemicals out, i bought an ex display IR Sauna and did this religiously along with dry skin brushing.

Got metals removed from mouth using safe protocol, did three colonics.

Did the Cliffords Test for compatable dental materials, reactive to most ESP Nickel and Mercury, plus Thimerosal i think this is in vaccinations.

I was like a walking skeleton, felt nauseous day and night and never thought it possible to feel so ill. I found a new doc. Dr M did Short Chain Polypeptides in Blood Serum, told me i had peptide length eight in my blood, this meant i had leaky gut, she also repeated Toxic Effects Screen, now the liver enzyme damage was reduced to 20% the metal responsible was pinpointed as nickel, also repeated Fat Cell Biopsy, all bad chemicals greatly reduced or gone after 200+ hrs sauna, but vitain E was still VERY low and i couldnt tolerate supplementing it (allways typically low with nickel poisoning) i still felt ill and could only eat meat and some veges, she did Gut Fermentation Profile had ethobol in blood which meant yeast overgrowth in small bowel.

Also did CDSA with GSDL but it was unhelpfull and missed the candida because it is in small bowel. Did OAT with IWDL, but sample had to reach lab wthin twenty four hrs and when i recieved my results the date on the sheet meant it took five days to reach them, it was very expensive and a waste of money (even though i paid for next day delivery)

I have done many more tests but cant think of them all right now, but my problem has been the metals/chemicals that caused the yeast overgrowth and this is what i am dealing with now. Its been very expensive, but the NHS were next to useless all there tests/investigations wwere normal.

Are you considering some testing? I do mine through Dr M she is based in Wales (but consults in Nottingham monthly) and i phone up for the test kit and she posts it to me, then i go to casualty to get the blood taken (easier than doctors surgery) when she gets the results back from Biolab she forwards them on to me.

Re: April (UK)
Hi Ann

I have linked in with a new practitioner and he is into the Patricia Kane method of Detoxx. Have you seen this Detoxx before?

I tried it but got a negative reaction after two capsules as my liver went negative.

I am a pathological detoxifier and for a number of years I thought it was mercury but after a number of vibrational tests I now think it was a white elephant for me, even though the logic was clear.

I am reaching an impasse but sense I must get my Phase 2 working better without upsetting Phase 1.

I wish you well and send you positive energy!!!

Hi Simon,

Thats good you have found a new practitioner, someone with a fresh approach. I havent heard of the Patricia Kane method of detox, there are so many things to try, sorry it didnt work for you, its all so disheartening, but you sound like your in tune with what is going wrong with your liver.

I started the Rachaels yogurt a few weeks back, had a few tspns without a prob, i did this a few times, then guess what, i went into the supermarket and rachaels yogurt said new improoved on the tub, i read the ingredients and it said ORGANIC CANE SUGAR....would you believe it!!

Hi Ann

This is the best Rachels yogurt for Dysbiosis:

http://www.rachelsorganic.co.uk/products/fatfree/ff-natural.html

It has no added sugar.

Good fortune!!!

Re:Simon (UK)
Hi Simon,

I haven't heard of Patricia Kane detoxx either. Had a quick look at it. I have actually just started taking physllium, additional vitamin c and chlorella daily also so I am trying to start down that kind of route as funds allow. It is all so hard!

Cheers,

Ann,

There are Rachel's yogurts which don't have sugar - just the plain ones but they are not my favourite. I have plain, low fat bio Yeo Valley yoghurt which is yummy although I worry about the cow's milk and whether I am reacting to it. The other one I have is St Helen's Farm Bio goats milk yoghurt which is in a lot of the supermarkets now. I wouldn't manage without yoghurt so I hope I can always eat it!!!

Re: April (UK)
Wow Ann! Sounds like a lot of testing and like you have been through the wars you poor thing!!
To be honest, I don't know what to do next! We really don't have the money to do much else - I am already spending a lot on tablets and organic food and books etc! Although my doctor is supporting me, I haven't been back much as there isn't much she can do as I know how limited they are with the NHS. They have tested me for all sorts and all blod tests have come back okay but then I kinda expected that!
She gave me 2 months of Nystatin which I took and I am not treating myself with 2 months caprylic acid and then taking it from there. I also follow a no sugar, no refined products, very limited dairy and fruit diet and various other vitmain and herbal supplements.
I suppose I want to make sure there isn't anything else wrong with me so that I am not treating the candida in vain only for it to come back again. I believe I got it due to having Glandular Fever 10 years ago followed by repercussions of cystitis treated with antbiotics each time and about 8 years on the contraceptive pill, as well as following an IBS diet which encourages carbs and sugar!! :(
I don't have it as bad as many people I read about but I have had ongoing problems with my bladder, kidney, breathing, allergies, severe stomach/digestion problems, persistent fungal infections, foliculitis, anxiety and insecurity, memory problems and I'm sure there is more I've not listed.
Was mostly considering getting liver function, vitamin levels and toxicity levels tested I suppose to identify anything else I need to treat. But I am in Essex so I would need to go back to my doctor I suppose?! Trouble is, the most she has been able to do for me is to get me an appointment with an NHS dietician which is in February 2006 and they probably won't know anything about Candida!! It's the money that is an issue too though!! :( My boyfriend and I have just bought our first place together and are still trying to get to grips with the mortgage!!!
Many thanks for your help though Ann - this sight has been a god send, it not a little depressing!!!
