Organic Acid Test
I was wondering if someone could help me with this one. I saw on www.vrp.com site that they sell a Organic Acid Test kit. I was wondering if someone had an opinion on them selling it. Is this a good idea to do without a professional helping? I know the website says that they give you a print out of what products to take depending on the individual. I think it also mentions something about consultations, but I didn't read it thoroughly yet. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks ahead,
Hi Maggie-
I just saw your post; sorry for the delayed response. I never heard of the company you mentioned in your post, but I had an organic acid test performed through my ND. The information that the test provides is informative and tells you what vitamins/supplements you are deficient in. (I had mine performed by Metametrix Labs. They won't allow you to order a test on your own; you have to order it through an ND/MD's office.)
I'm on a vitamin supplement correction regimen with my ND right now. Though it's a slow long road to recovery (as we all know), I think the test results helped with pointing my ND and I in the right direction to correct vitamin deficiencies.
Did you order the test?
Good luck!

I haven't ordered the test yet. I don't know of any ND's in my area. I will have to try and locate one first.
Hi Maggie,
I've not heard from anyone who used this service. However, it sounds fine. If you don't understand the printout, then you can always get an MD or ND to help you read it. It won't tell you everything, but you may find out if you have Clostridia Difficile or some other bad bacteria.
