Redness And Itching
I've always had the itchy anus problem for years now. Mostly at night, but sometimes in day too. I had sex with my girlfriend without a condom about 5 weeks ago. We've both been tested and clean. I had a red rash appear on the left side of my penis under the glans. Freaked me out a little bit (ok, a lot, I'm very careful when it comes to the little man). The rash was a red patch with little pinhead-sized red dots in it. It would come and go from skin contact, either sex or masturbation. Decided after a week, and much reading online and scaring myself, to go to the dermatologist and have it looked it. He immediately said balantitis and gave me a prescription for anti-fungal cream and cortisone cream. He said there was no way it was herpes or anything like that and not to worry.
I still worried. My girlfriend was nice enough to go get tested again, and, sure enough it was negative (she had a specific HSV2-type test done which is supposed to be very accurate).
Stopped worrying, but I noticed the redness, although never as bad as it was, would come back a bit. I currently have one persistent spot which is a much smaller patch of redness on the rim of the glans with a small red dot in the center. It also comes and goes from contact.
He had swabbed the area, and I recently got the results back. Positive for fungus and a small amount of bacteria.
I admit I never used the fungal cream as most of it cleared up by itself. But the skin around the general area still seems "raw" after masturbation or contact. And I still have slight redness in spots.
Today I used the fungal cream to see if it helps.
Elsewhere, I have a textbook case of what looks like jock itch on the scrotum, and yes it does itch. This also started when we first had sex. Although I have had itching down there before, this time it got worse.
Around and at the anus is more of the same, though much itchier. The redness almost looks very similar to what's on the penis. I'm trying not to scratch at night, but the areas I scratched deeply have become red and slightly raised.
I used the cream on the scrotum and anus too.
It's interesting to note that the symptoms came about the first time (on the left side of the penis, the rash that caused me to freak out) after a VERY hot and humid day, where I did not shower after sex and spent the whole in tightish jeans that were way too hot for the day. I also noted lately that one thing that's different since this started happening is that I use my laptop at night very close to down there, and it gets very hot. I don't know, maybe that's contributing to the fungal growth down there?
Funny enough, her gyno said she had no yeast down there. I don't know how she concluded that. She did have a UTI and was treated. All other tests came back clear.
Either way, it's not fun. I will continue applying the fungal cream for the next week. If anyone has any other suggestions or insight, I'd love to hear it.
I have had similar issues. I have reoccuring redness at the tip of my penis. the redness lasts for a few hours or 1 or 2 days immediatly following sex. Have also been tested three times for Herpes (all negative). Just had another Comprehensive Stool Analysis. Which indicated that I had very low count of Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus and had some bad bacteria gamma haemolytic Strep. alpha haemolytic Strep. Pseuidomonas species and Haemolytic Escheriachia coli. If the good bacteria were at normal levels I would not have these other bacteria. Dr. seems to think it is the problem.
I don't have constant itching, however whenever I eat something sweet or bread I have immediate itching in the groin area.
Never had the red dots.
Im like you not sure what to believe and don't want to pass it on to anyone else. Can't seem to get rid of it been 2 years now. I did have high mercury levels as well.
Please let me know if you learn anything. It would be interesting to see how your stool analysis would turn out. Great Smokies Diagnostic Lab Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis. You may want to give it a try
sammy,
I have the same problem.
After I eat something containing sugar, coffein or flour I get an immediate itching or stinging in my vagina. After few minutes it stops until the next try to eat something "unhealthy"...The same happens when not drinking enough water... If I ignore it it gets worse and I have streptococcus overgrowth in a vaginal smear test.
The only thing which is helping me to alleviate this discomfort is eating psyllium husk and bentonite every day.Try it, it helps a lot to keep your intestine in good shape!!!!!!
My partner had also red dots and kind of red rash on his penis. After I started to put boric acid into my vagina and he used coloidal silver on his penis the dots don't appaer anymore.I still keep using boric acid to avoid any comeback of fungus, but I still feel the immediate itching after bread and sugar, which means, that my intestine fungust is still active.
Lisabeth: thank you very much for the info. I will let you know how it works for me
I find it interesting you and your partner have those issues. The funny thing is, I only get the symptoms after sex with her. We usually have sex on weekends (sometimes every other weekend), so it's easy to pinpoint when it happens. First time, I had the red rash on the penis with the tiny dots and bad scrotal jock itch. Next time, I had folliculitis in the pubic region and another small rash on the glands (just a tiny red spot). This last time I had the least symptoms, just a little more folliculitis. I also get very tender and raw from sex with her though, with a lot of general redness. I wonder what sort of organism(s) is causing all this? Why wouldn't the bacteria and yeast show up on her pap smear? She said it was negative for yeast. She didn't say anything about bacteria so I'm assuming there was none?
The first sentence made me wonder if you have considered pinworms?
Those with candida overgrowth have the "privilege" of examining and dealing with stressors. (not desiring a faith conversation with what is said next) For those not married, emotions have to be evaluated to honestly address if there are concerns of longevity of the relationship and concerns of former partners...this can be very stressful and often a factor swept under the carpet. Likewise, those married must honestly evaluate their emotions and anything in their relationship that may be stressful and swept under the carpet. Masterbation with marrieds or unmarrieds "can" be a stressor...often denied(last 3 statements are for individual examination concerning eliminating stressors...not shared to provoke faith conversation, please). Other than those more difficult to evaluate stressors, there are many easier to spot.
The easier to spot are shared in these two links...from Merck and targeting the female gender BUT aspects of interest to a sexual partner. Soaps, acidity change of vagina during and BEFORE menstruation, hygiene products used, dyed or synthetic and close fitting undies/clothing(wonder if the kilt, the Middle East robes worn by men, the broadfall pants that cowboys USED to wear and the Amish now wear, and boxers versus briefs helped/help menfolk avoid infections), sanitary pads or panty liners, toilet tissue used, laundry products....well, you get the idea of a myriad of things to evaluate. One for children with infections...fingering...makes me consider that antibacterial soaps or lotions or even residue from using antibacterial cleaning products left on the hands should be evaluated. I recall once a mention of tub/shower cleaner residue causing a problem for women with them being introduced to the genital area when next using the tub/shower. Suppose some of these aspects might not cause one partner a problem but might be an issue to the other partner, especially one already dealing with rebalancing flora issues. Heat/friction can be an irritant, too(the laptop, for example). Hope this post is helpful.

oops...should have been
The first paragraph made me wonder if you have considered pinworms?
I read that itching intensified at night can be indicative of pinworms and pinworms can contribute to candida overgrowth. Not sure of the validity of the last part.
Don't be so sure she doesn't have a yeast problem even if the doctor has checked her. She could have a systemic yeast problem and test results come back with her having bacteria!! I know this sounds crazy but this is what happened with me. UTI's and vaginal bacteria. However the real problem that the "so called" doctors can't find is a systemic yeast problem! How is your tougue doing? Is it white? Have you been on alot of antibiotics? How are your toenails and feet? Any athletes foot or toenail fungus? Ask your girlfriend about the antibiotics that she has taken. You both could be passing this thing back and forth. Either way though, grains and sugars feed yeast and bacteria! Lower your grains and sugars and both of you should get on high potency probiotics! Even some natural antifungals. Go to a serious health food store and ask the herbalists to help you.
Also, wash before and after intercourse!!!!!!! AND gargle with hydrogen peroxide before and after!!!!!!!
Rob, usually a man will not catch candida unless his immunity is low but it sounds like you have a case. I would suspect you had a problem before the sex and this just made it easier to get a foothold. The reason I say this is because ithcing anus is indication of internal overgrowth. I would get some "Lamasil" from the drug store, this works well for superficial skin infections but if it goes deeper, I have found that Potassium Iodide and DMSO will help, also do a bowel cleanse and take some probiotics, especially Bifidus.
BTW, if you wash with apple cider vinager before sex it is supposed to prevent infection.
Well, I think I have candida overgrowth. i've been on this board for 3-4 years now. It could be from:
- Years of antibiotic use.
- Heavy metals.
- Pyroluria.
- Lyme.
