Skin & Toxins
So..if you work out and are all sweaty, what happens if you have to wait to get itno the shower. Do the toxins sink back into your body, or just dry on your skin?
Thanks for all the info :)
I believe that as your body cools down, your pores begin to get smaller, thus making it harder to reabsorb. The toxins will most likely stay on the skin, and as long as you don't heat your body back up, thus making the pores larger, you should be okay. When you finally take a shower, making sure that the water is cool will help you to rinse off the toxins off cleanly because your pores will stay small. Hope this helps. Blessings,
Unfortunately many environmental toxins are lipophilic and can pass straight through cell membranes, so pores don't play much of a role.
I would guess that hydrophilic toxins will remain on the skin, while lipophilic toxins will dissolve back into the fatty tissue
Most likely you won't be mobilizing many lipophilic toxins during exercise or sauna anyway. Fat soluable toxins need fat to mobilize them, so taking a daily dose of olive oil and lemon juice should keep your system clean.
Hi Penny,
Cell membranes consist mainly of Phospholipids, cholestrol and proteins, so toxins are dissolved in and under the skin. This is why subcutaneous fat biopsies are such an effective way to measure toxic body load. In addition, the skin has millions of sebaceous glands which secrete sebum, an oily waxy sustance needed to keep the skin moist and suple. The reason we take a sauna, expecially a Far Infra Red sauna is to heat the skin and subcutaneous tissue and increase the vapour pressure of the dissolved toxins. It is also recommended to take a high dose of Niacin (B3) which increases blood supply by dilating capillaries in the skin

Great research. I am not sure anyone is reading it but us (smile)
