Liver Sulphation

Liver Sulphation
It has been suggested that my constant hair loss maybe due to a lack of sulphur needed by liver to detox. Does anyone know if adding the amino acid supplement L Cysteine would be a good way of increasing sulphur (this has been recommended but I dont know) Eating the usual sulphur veggies is not providing suficient amounts (brussel sprouts brocolli greens etc). I dont want to take anything that is going to upset something else.....does anyone have any other ways of increasing sulphur or would L Cysteine be ok. Any experiences or info much appreciated.

Re: Liver Sulphation
I feel so sorry for you Amanda.
Can you still not tolreate epsom salt baths? They give a lot of sulphur.

I have thicker hair now with more vitamin Bs I think.

Have you tried going to some doctor who does the DAn protocol (Defeat autism now) - they are very knowledgeable about patients who tolerate almost nothing and need detoxing.
I tried to find a list of doctors for you, but couldn't right now, but here is a link about Mg and B6
http://www.autismwebsite.com/ari/treatment/treatment.htm

You will get better, I am sure.

Hi Tove. Thanks for your concern its much appreciated.

The Epsom Salts baths gave me such a terrific die-off reaction, to be honest I have not dared to try one since. However I buy did myself a little spray bottle which I fill with water then add some of the Epsom Salts and keep giving myself a little squirt. I also manage to do the foot soaks that Liz suggested a while back - none of this is very much but at least its something.

It would be ideal if I could find a doctor who specialised in detoxification but they are a bit thin on the ground here. Many thanks for the web page - my sisters little girl became Autistic after receiving the MMR vaccine. She has been treated and is better now but its suprising how many similarities there are between Autism and CFS/Systemic Candidiasis.

Yes I too hope I will get better. I hope we all do. Thanks again

Re: To Tove
Hi Amanda,

epsom salts made me feel really bad too. IMHO it was the salts rather than die-off.

If you have money and a sympathetic GP, I would look to picking and choosing Biolab tests to do and going through them looking for dodgy results. You can do biolab tests free on the NHS if the GP is willing to take the costs. Just a thought. Finding a sympathetic GP is the hard bit of course.

I dont know what types of things are regarded as causing baldness in women. Hormones ? Whatever it is, I would look it up and get tested ??

Just some ideas.

Hi John. Yes some tests would be helpful I do feel that the hairloss is directly linked to high levels of toxins in my body that my liver just doesnt cope with. The hairloss just gets worse with everything that causes a die-off reaction. I wondered about the Liver Detoxification Profile Test (think that is what it is called) but you have to swollow paracetamol, asprin and caffeine - that in itself would be enough to finish me off. Its just finding the right nutrients in the right quantities to support my liver. I am speaking with a nutritionist this week so maybe there might be some additional help there. Many thanks for your thoughts

Re: Liver/Sulphation
Hi Amanda

I am not sure if this will help or if it has sulfur, ut chlorella was the only thing that stopped hair loss for me. I am sure it asored lyme toxins and metals so I did not deplete sulphur as much.

You can also try sam-e or lipo-gsh to see if that helps.

Hi b

Thats interesting how Chlorella helped your hair loss. I will look into that supplement as I have read it can have alot of positive effects. Can you recommend a particular brand at all? I am seriously beginning to weigh up the idea of buying a wig its THAT bad. I have a bald patch the size of the UK on top of my head and more and more hair drops out each time I take a probiotic or even eat any antifungal foods. Its VERY scarey - I just dont think my liver is handling the toxins at all. Everything I do or eat just seems to create more toxins - walking, going in the bath, even eating a meal, taking vitamin C, and believe it or not just drinking plain hot water (all creating more hair loss). My poor old liver must be sooo stressed. I am glad your hairloss has improved and I will be sure to try the Chlorella. Thanks again

Re: To b
Amanda,

I have heard that low thyroid causes hair loss. Have you checked that?

Kathy

To Kathy
Hi Kathy

Yes I have had my thyroid checked and the results came back within the normal range. I dont know how accurate that is because I have read that candida can throw your thyroid out. Thanks

Amanda

Re: To Kathy
Hi Amanda,

I take synthroid, but I think my thyroid is still too low. My temp. is usually 96 or 97.something. I can't get any doc to give me amour or something else b/c tests come back normal. I thought that might be your problem too. What have MD's told you, if you have seen any? They can't think that is normal.

But then again, maybe they would. I am looking to buy something natural or on the web to boost mine.

To Kathy
Hi Kathy. Yes my doctor is fairly sympathetic towards my health issues but he is limited as to what he can do. I cannot tolerate drugs/medicines of any sort - not that I would take them anyway. I have taken enough of their garbage throughout my life. He is quite prepared to carry out any tests I require/request which seems only fair in view of the fact that from being very young the British NHS system literally prescribed me absolutely countless amounts of totally un-necessary antibiotics leaving me a gut-cripple for more than half my life.

I hope you manage to find something to help your thyroid hormones and start feeling better soon. Thanks

Amanda

Re: To Amanda
I'm glad you have a sympathetic doc, I can't find one that believes anything I say regarding anything natural or pertaining to any tests except their usual ones. No stool etc. Very frustrating!!!

I saw a naturopath for two years and got better, but the cost was outragious! I'm doing it on my own now.

I hope you have better luck.

ReTo Amanda
OOOPS I meant that to you Amanda, not to me.

Re: To amanda

Wow. Yea I think chlorella can help and you may need to take A LOT of it at first, 6-10 grams. I use Sun chlorella. You do want to use a reputale rand ecause otherwise it can e contaminated.

Start with 2-3 grams per day and then I would go up to 6-10 until the hair stops falling out.

I have really not had this prolem since. I am also on a vitamin c and salt protocol for lyme and the chlorella makes the experience a lot more pleasant!

take care

Do you think it helps your liver to detox?

Amanda

Re: To b
yes a lot. it asors toxins so your liver does not have to.

also i have a low thyroid though the tests come out normal so you should do a trial run of natural thyroid medication. ut even with thyroid my hair was falling out so i think the chlorella can help alot.]
Many Thanks b n/m
