Probiotics?
Im thinking of rying natures biotics. I have tried threelac and had a really bad time with it, i think i was probably allergic to the brewers yeast in it. I have also had a really bad time with primal defense. When I first tried it, It worked really well for about 2 months and then after that my bod just didn't like it, I kept getting really bad liver and gallbladder pain so I had to stop.I hear natures biotics is a lot cleaner than Primal defense as it doesn't have so many other ingredients, such as the PD's grasses and other ingredients.
I would really appreciate some advice.

They are supposed to be distributing a new product soon called Bio-Lichen which has a large concentration of Bacillus Lichenformus as well as chlorella as well as other supporting factors to support the detox and metals released from the fungus that is killed by the probiotics. You might want to inquire as to the status of that product before you go ahead and order.
Yes, i have used Natures Biotics, LOTS, i was worried about reacting to them but was fine, they dont contain any extras, just SBO, unlike some other probiotics they can survive a hostile environment, i was taking eighteen caps over twenty four hrs, i took six of these around 3am. I am not sure if they helped though, i maybe didnt take them for long enough, i think it can take three months to see good results.

Thanks for gettings back to me.
I have decided to throw away my primal defense. I took 1 tablet tuesday and have had such severe liver pain- it'skind of put me off SBOs. I did read somewhere that SBOs can be dangerous especially Bacillus Lichenformus. A few naturopaths ive seen disagree with SBOs, seeing them as spore forming bacteria, as once they are inside your system it is very difficult to remove them.
Feeling very disillusioned at the mo. I need to get this candida under control. I am in my last year of a physiotherapy degree so pretty much see patients everday, so I want to avoid heavy die off.
Please please any advice. I recently tried Oxygen elements plus and threelac which made me feel non functional.
Thankyou again
I dont know much about all these different types of pro biotics but isnt three lac a spore forming pro biotic? This is being adver tised on almost every candida site. Maybe it is s different type of spore forming than in natures biotics

have you tried the route of cleansing? Liver flushing, colon cleansing, kidney cleansing, with a healing diet and lifestyle? it worked very well for me and others I know. it doesn't cost much, it just takes some time and effort and a willingness to stick with it. check out www.curezone.com for great cleansing info.
I think Jarrow is a good company. When do you think of the Jarro-Dophilus EPS which delivers 200 times more bacteria to the small intestine? It has eight species and 4.4 billion Organisms per capsule.
That probiotic is supposed to be considered one of the good brands. However I don't think probiotic supplementation works. I believe our entire effort should be in keeping the body healthy and cleansed so that it can do its usual job of keeping candida in check. Just how to keep your body healthy and strong is sort of the tricky and not so straightforward part.
4.4 billion is not that strong a preparation. You might not notice anything from it. However, there are some people who are so sick that they can't tolerate the stronger products. If you already have purchased it, give it a try. It is almost always best to start with a weak preparation and see if you tolerate it.
Has anyone tried the new Dannon Probiotic drink for the immune system yet (you can get it in most grocery stores)?
Thanks.
I've tried it several times. It doesn't work for systemic candida. It may work for candida confined to gut followng AF therapy.
I was wondering whether anyone has experienced flatulence when taking probiotics. I have noticed when I take an extra probiotic on top of the Lamisil and Threelac I tend to get flatulence. It isn't a problem as I don't take them during the week at work - mainly of an evening and on the weekend if I am not doing anything special. I am just a little worried that as I am getting better I am not taking enough probiotics. Please help.
By trial and error I found that probiotics with Bifidum bacteria caused painful flatulence/wind, so I use ones with just Lactobacillus strains. Not totally helpful, but better than nothing.
Hope this helps, Nikki.
Thanks a lot, Ruth. By the way because of this I read the bottle and the probiotic contains glucose is this normal? Do probiotics normally contain glucose? I mean I should be avoiding glucose.
I have not had glucose in any of the Probiotics I've used, sometimes a little FOS and stearic acid which is a harmless binder in caps.
I'm using Allergy Research now after a short course of ABX - quite strong with 3 strains of Lactobacillus.
After 50 days I'll go back to Quest, which is single strain.
I think it is good to ring the changes.
Best of luck.
Hello. I am about to start a program for Candida. I wanted to share some info on (Saccharomyces boulardii) that I have recently found.
I read on the website that only prescription strength antifungals should not be taken with , but natural antifungals from health food stores do not affect . I plan to take Grapefruit Seed Extract, so I found this helpful.
Look under the Q & A section at www.florastor.com for the information: " should not be taken with oral systemic antifungal medications such as Fluconazole, Nystatin, Ketoconazole, or Itraconazole. Natural antifungal or carminative like therapies such as Garlic, Grape Seed Extract, Oregon Grape, or Berberine, do not seem to disturb or affect the workings of Saccharomyces boulardii lyo found in ."
Also, my mom is a pharmacist at Wal-Mart and she says that several people order through Wal-Mart and sometimes they have it in stock.
Anyway, just some info. for people looking into . :):)
-(Wish me luck with killing this Candida, guys!)
Thanks. That might also be generally good info for any prescrip antifungal and any probiotic. Interesting that natural seem ok.
After reading this forum, I checked out Bio-K at Whole Foods (the non-dairy kind because I'm vegan). I see that evaporated cane juice is listed in the ingredients. Is this just for the friendly bacteria to feed on? Is it okay to drink this on the Candida diet? It's a 98g container and the label says it has 8g of carbs.
Thanks in advance!
Elizabeth
Hi Elizabeth,
You're in a predicament; the sugar I'm sure is for flavor and for you, not for the bacteria to eat (I don't think). Personally, I stay away from it because it'll feed the candida, despite the presence of the bacteria. You can't be too careful with candida. I buy the dairy sugar-free kind, which works well for me.
My second choice in probiotics is Dr. Ohirra's OMX brand, Professional Verson. Crohns.net sells it at a good price (though still relatively expensive). I used to swear by it before I discovered Bio-K. It's fermented, and it's vegan.
Good luck, and let us know what you decide to do.
Thanks so much, Kate!
Florastor is the brand of I take and they sell it in the Chicago area at CVS, Meijer, Walgreens and Osco. It's not hard to find, but it is expensive. Just be sure not to take it at the same time you take an anti-fungal. Since that particular probiotic is a form of some kind of good yeast/bacteria, the antifungals kill it off and you are wasting your money. When I do take an antifungal I take it at least three hours later. According to my dr., the Sac. b. has an anti-candida mechanism as well as repopulationg the gut with good bacteria.
