Probiotics

Are you the same Harold that posted here in 2000. Someone named Harold was doing rectal implants of probiotics. Was that you ?


Yes,that was me.I had tried a number of oral probiotics with no success.This was in the early days[over thirty years ago]with my Drs.giving me ABXs,destroying my intestinal Flora.They caused incontinence.Then by good luck my favourite HF store got some Pro-biotic powder by Natren.Fortunately it was fresh,so I tried it orally mixed with liquid with some small success.Then I became desperate;I got some other capsule supplements[00 size],took them apart,.emptied out the contents,then filled them with the Natren powder[I think there were five different pro-bs in it].Then I used them as suppositories with good results.I had tried other pro-bs as suppositories with small successes,not lasting though.

For a long time here Natren went off the market,according to my HF Store owner.And I was still stupidly letting my Drs. treat me.Lately I found it available on the 'net,so I am back using them orally with excellent results.I also have ordered from Custom Probiotics and hopefully they will be good;at a much better price.
The reason I am doing this is because of the frivolous use of ABX by my drs.,I "WAS" plagued with chronic Diarrhea for over seven years and this is the first relief I have had;not perfect yet,but,Damn close.

Can you tell me how a suppository of probiotics works - I can see how it can go far enough up if you know what I mean - sorry to be graphic!

Don't worry about graphics,this is more important and dignity must take a back seat.
The probiotics do their work in the bowel.To insert them[the 00 size caps.] I got a Monistat 7 kit. I took the plastic applicator tube and modified it by cutting off the small flat end,not the funnel shaped end.Smooth it,then reverse the plunger in the tube.The 00 capsules fit in the modified end and with lubricant insert easily.This was all I had to do to get results.
Now,I am getting good results just taking them orally.
