Culturelle
I am trying to find out if anyone has tried the one with microcrystalline cellulose instead of inulin? and what was the result? Thank You. I haven't had much luck with probiotics and as per Tom's experience/guidance I was thinking of trying this one.
I tried lots of probiotica and Culturelle GG was the one that Inoticed most difference. Since I live in Norway it is difficult to get hold of, though, so it is years ago. Now they sell both youghurt and orange juice and applecuice with Lactobacillus GG here innorway. Unfortunately I can't make my daughter drink them, and they are too sweet for me!I think both fermented vegetables AND probiotica are important. Feremnted vegetables doesn't stay in the body.
Now I take Probiozym from www.neurozym.com (soon availabel in other countries), and it makes me really energetic. I also just bought Intensive from Biocare (England), and eat masses of vegetables fermented with VitaBiosa.
I have completely pink tongue now!
Thanks for the great post. I am definately going to pick up some Culturelle. In the past, I have not done well with fermented vegetables, although I love the taste. I also love homemade yogurts, but couldn't tolerate them either. I am very sensitive to molds. Once I can find a few probiotics to rotate that I can tolerate, maybe I can build up enough gut flora to add back in some fresh raw saurkraut. I really want a pink tongue, and I know that it will take awhile to get there. Thanks so much.
Over the years I have tried many different brands of Probiotics, even Culturelle, and finally I've found one that works for me.It's Healthy Tinity from Natren.I had my intestinal flora destroyed by Anti-biotics and I have been trying to restore them. This one is working like magic.
At the moment, I have two Natren probiotics in my fridge. One is the acidophilus powder, and the other is the bifidus powder. Both did nothing for me. I took HT a long time ago, but since them I became sensitive to the oil matrix. I may have to start with the Culturelle and maybe work up to that one next. I know that HT is definately one of the better ones. Thanks so much for the feedback.
Interesting. Natren's never did a thing for me ( I spent a small fortune on that one- as it is marketed HEAVILY at my HFS ). I'm having nothing short of miraculous results now from one called Custom Probiotics. I heard about it from a friend that posts here. I think once I better address my food allergens ( leaky gut ), I may be on my way to a full recovery! ( -Lord I live in hope anyway )
Now Custom probiotics did nothing for me. I tried several of their products. Harry is such a wonderful person, too, but his products just don't work for me. I am glad you are having success.
I'm sorry Penney. Isn't it funny how very different we all are?
I still have a LONG way to go, but I'll never give up :0-)
It is really expensive isn't it? Where do you buys yours, if I may ask? Thanks for the feedback.
I originally got it through their web-site ww.natren.com
Then they were unable to ship direct to me so they gave me a list of local HF stores in my area who stocked it.AS for expense,I would gladly pay double to get the results it gives me.
I agree, Harold. Althought the only other one I have ever tried was Jarrowdophilus, the was recommended to me by my nutritionist and then my alternative doc. For me they work great. I was getting colonics and at first they were only helping me, but soon I realized the colonics were wiping out all teh healthy flora and the result was a candida resurgence in spite of(and now I know also because of) the colonics. A few days of HT and candida began to dissipate again.
The least expensive place I have found this is at an online site called Allstar Health at:
allstarhealth.com
Sans,
I checked the site and found nothing for Healthy Trinity or Natren. Did you do a special order with them? Maybe they no longer carry this product.
I used to use it and it was excellent. Got to be very pricey!
Whch Culturelle are you using Culturelle DS or HS? Thanks for your time.
Penny, I don't know what DS or HS is, I've ordered from two places and think its the same product although one says 10 billion cells and the other says 40 mg but both are Lactobacillus GG.

Apparently, you have used both kinds. The one from Vitamin Shoppe contains inulin, and the one from Walgreens contains cellulose. I am wondering if you felt any difference between the two? Thanks Again
HI Penny. I think that probioitics with inulin kind of negate the probioitics at least for me anyway. I dont have any luck with inulin or fos. I would take the cellulose one because doesnt that also help digest candida? do you know which one has inulin? My son has used many many different probioitics with his lyme protocol and says that he is getting better luck with eating a certain yogurt with all of the cultured baterias.
How are you? Yes, I am very sensitive to inulin, too. It wasn't always this way. There was a time that I was using FOS in baking. I was making these yummy cookies with gluten-free flour, FOS and stevia. Boy, how my body has changed! Now I can't tolerate either. I can have a dot of stevia, literally a dot and that is all! You need to get the Culturelle that is DS, this one has cellulose. Look in your local pharmacy. Most will carry it. You can also call 1-888-828-4242 and order it here.
