Marine Minerals
Have you found a good supplement yet. I was taking Marine minerals a few years back and it made me feel kinda sick. I am not sure what to take for trace minerals. Food is just not enough. I would value your suggestions. Thanks
Have you checked out GOL springs of life?
Hey Sweetpea, I just so happened to do a search and that site came up. I just ordered some of the minerals that Tom is taking. I also cannot tolerate any of the other stuff he mentioned. I will let you know how I tolerate it. Thanks for your help.
I hope it is good for you. I am "supposed" to take it too, under the cancer protocol in the book, I'm just out of money, and don't think I can remember to take one more thing each day. It's like a full time job, lol.
Penny, I rely on Alfalfa, Wheatgrass, nutritional yeast, blackstrap molasses and seeds and nuts for most of my minerals. I have also added Dolimite lime and trace minerals to my garden. I also get trace minerals that are mined locally that is high in Fulvic Acid, I don't take these on a regular basis. These minerals have been praised for generations in my area for their effectiveness(http://www.mikeschoice.com/).
I agree about the Marine Minerals, most of the gallon I bought is still sitting on the shelf.
Thanks for sharing this info. WHy do you not take this mineral supplement on a regular basis? Have you had any negative reactions, or do you just get enough from other sources right now? I cannot take any of the other products you mentioned, so I am hoping to tolerate this supplement you talk about. I feel more confident knowing that someone has tried it. Most of these mineral toddies sound like scams. Thank you so much.
, I think once you get any mineral dificiencies corrected and eat the right kind of wholefoods its not necessary to take minerals daily. The Mike's Choice minerals are from a very unique deposit about 15 miles from where I live, I've been there and seen it. These minerals have been used locally for a long time, they will stop bleeding ulcers amost instantly, also good for upset stomach. We kept this onhand when I was a boy growing up on the farm and used it mostly for cuts and bruises and gave it to the livestock, a cow will slick off with the most beautiful coat you'll see, my father thought the mineral water was deworming them but now I know they were just getting good nutrition.
Tom
Sorry about impersonating you!
Those are all natural and nutritional ways to get minerals. Probably the most easily assimilated to. I would love to get my minerals that way but everything you named(with the exsception of molassas) is an allergy waiting to happen(at least for me).
I was laughing when I read your post. Could you even imagine eating nutritional yeast! I do not think you will hear that I am eating this in my lifetime. I have tried Alfalfa on my way to the emergency room (kidding!) It did make me really sick, though. Those are such great sources of minerals I wish I could go natural. I do eat nuts sometimes, but I have to watch out for mold. Can you tolerate nuts? I can eat some nuts, but not seeds. Sunflower, pumpkin and flax seeds make me very sick. I ordered the minerals Tom suggested. I trust his judgement, and also I read their website. I will let you know how it goes. Nice to see you:)
I must be the weirdo, because I love nutritional yeast. When I was vegan I used it to make "cheese" and "cheese sauce". It was surpisingly good. Now I feed it to my dog, it's a great flea prevenative, and also a great flea treatment if an animal is infested.
You can also mix 1/2 cup yeast with 1/2 cup Olive oil and 1 tablespoon Lecithin for a good healthy spread.
Tom
I wasn't commenting on the flavor of yeast. I think it is a great food if you can tolerate it. I was just joking around about my sensitivites. Before I became this ill, I was eating all sorts of things that people thought were weird. I love health store foods. You are my kinda weird! :)
, you sound like me, I was a health freak too before it was in vogue. I used to eat brewers yeast, wheat germ, lecithin granules, alfalfa.. you name it. of course now i am allergic to all of these foods that no one else wants to eat. my fatal error was albacore tuna.
My fatal error was soybeans & tofu. I didn't know back then about how it would raise my estro- levels.
How do you think this effects men? I had a roomate once who lived on tofu, miso, tamari etc...and he really was quite effeminate (I probably spelled that wrong). I have read that too much soy can actually shrink mens brains. That sounds far fetched, but it all makes me wonder. I have heard that as far as estrogen goes, eating edimame is not going to have the same effect as eating tofu etc..what do you think about that?
I think that this is true. The way that soy is processed makes a difference in the way it reacts in your body. The edmeme and miso are different than tofu and soy milks and powders. They have traced depression in young adults to certain infant soy formulas that had way over the amount of maganese in them. They found this in their hair samples. I sure hope that they have corrected that formula.
