Magnesium
How much magnesium do you take per day?
Hi April
I have had some success with Magnesium Glycinate by Kirkman (available at Nutricentre) It seems to be only one I am able to absorb with any effect. I have been taking slightly more than the recommended doseage - i.e 500mg.

I to have had success with this form. It is the only form of magnesium that does not give me a headache. I dont know why this is.
I have just ordered a product called Magnesium Malate which also has malic acid as I want to use it in the week pior to doing a liver flush. It only has fairly low levels of magnesium in although my multi vit also has a small amount.
I plan to get a calcium and magnesium supplement as I am sure my calcium intake must be too low with no dairy too!
Hi April.
I also take a regular small amount of BioCare's Magnesium Malate in the hope of gradually dissolving any stones as I do eventually plan on taking some Olive Oil and Lemon Juice every morning (like a gentle daily flush). I was so short of magnesium I dont think I am overdosing but calcium has always been a problem for me anyway - it makes me feel weak. Good Luck with your liver flush!

Thats interesting about calcium making you weak. What forms do you use? I like magnesium glycinate the best but I think you are right about malate being good for the flush. Is it okay to do a daily dose of olive oil like you are planning to do?
Hi Liz. I dont actually take any calcium at the moment other than what is in my multi- vitamin. They all make me feel weak for some reason. As for the "mini" liver flush of one tablespoon of olive oil and one tablespoon of lemon juice - I have been told it does still gently flush the liver but you still have to follow the correct outlines for a full liver flush (i.e cleansing the colon, taking supplements to dissolve the stones etc). I dont know if you would get stones out this way - its perhaps just trial and error but just at this moment in time I am too sick to try this anyhow. Its just something that I would like to be able to do at some point.

I have fibromyalgia but have gotten over the pain with detoxing and the diet. I take as much magnesium as my body will tolerate. My Dr. said I should take again as much magnesium as calcium and I need 1500 mg. of calcium but I cannot tolerate 3000 mg. of magnesium. I may take 2,000 mg. total. One can not take too much or one will get diahrrea. I also take Malic Acid.
