Thimerisol In Vaccinations

I saw RFK Jr. on Stewart. He was very good in explaining things. I had told my husband about the vaccination issue at dinner tonight and his eyes kind of got that glazed over look, like "what next". When we came home and I turned on Stewart and saw Kennedy, he did pay attention. My husband said he thought my granddaughter, who is just 1 yr., old was safe because they took the thimerisol out of the vaccinations in 2003. But she got many of the combination shots which are still supposed to contain thimerisol. I don't know if he believed me or not because he said RFK didn't say it!!

My granddaughter does seem healthier than my two did at her age, BUT I think at least part of that is I'm so aware of allergies and they (her parents) do eventually listen to me when I tell them I think she's allergic to something. Whole milk was the recent problem with her when she became so constipated it almost ripped her little rear apart. After that incident, my daughter has started listening a little more more to what I have to say! My kids had constant colds at that age, but I now know that they had multiple food allergies.

I do worry about the ADD aspect. My granddaughter is one of the sharpest, outgoing little people I've ever met. She is way off the charts in everything. She was repeating everything we said right after her first birthday, and remembers and notices everything. But she has such a limited attention span that it is really scaring me. I'm hoping it's just that she's so young and learning so many new things, but she is really wild! She's smart enough to already be manipulative and she is in constant motion. Sometimes she will just keep running around in circles for quite some time.

Mascara / Make-up Remover
In general, avoid 'lash-building' mascaras. Many of these contain fibers which lengthen and thicken the eyelashes, but which also may flake off into the eye. Contact lens wearers should especially be careful. There are many new formulas which do add to the lashes and do not flake, however, there are many which can be a problem. The only absolute is to avoid them all. Another potential problem can be the preservative system used. Thimerosal can be an effective preservative, but it has been shown to be sensitizing and eye doctors avoid it whenever possible. Unfortunately, thimerosal is used in some mascara formulations, so be careful.

RFK Jr has a weekend radio program on Air America, and he briefly discussed this vaccine issue last week. He bothered the HELL OUT OF ME though, by claiming that thimerasol was removed from vaccines in 2003, which according to this FDA site, is clearly not the case! updated 7/18/2005

According to the FDA, as of 9/04, MANY products contain mercury, including NEOPSPORIN (King Pharmaceuticals)

RFK needs to be notified of this.


Aaacckkk Neosporin???? We use that stuff. Here are the ingredients listed on the label:
Active Ingredients: bacitracin, neomycin, polmyxin

Inactive ingredients: cocoa butter, cottonseed oil, olive oil, sodium pyruvate, vit. E and white petroleum

Which ingredient is the mercury or don't they have to disclose that? Let me know.

dpd, this appears to be another mis-information campaign. I was told also that mercury has been removed from all vaccines except the flu vaccine

Perhaps you are still safe... Look at the web site I posted, go to King pharmaceuticals, and see if the neosporin product listed is the one you are using.

I'd look through the rest of this LENGHTY list also, perhaps other products you are using contain thimerasol.


If that was my kid, I would do the following as a minimum:

1. Check out future vaccinations to make absolutely sure they don't contain thimerisol or any metals (metals are included to stimulate immune response..i.e get a bigger bang for the $)
2. Avoid giving Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen to treat reaction symptoms like fever after any vaccination
3. Ventilate the child's bedroom and play area extremely well, several times per day

More extreme measures would include
4. Checking the house for environmental toxins (Far, far more common than people would expect. For example, I checked 15 houses at random in San Diego and found 70% contaminated with compounds I would not like to live with e.g pesticides, organic solvents
5. Visit a Doctor specialising in environmental medicine and have him/her prescribe supplements appropriate to the Child's exposure level.

Frankly, I doubt many people would spend 1 to 2 thousand dollars when the kid is healthy, but I've seen first hand what these environmental toxins and heavy metal containing vaccines do to kids and for me, a couple of grand just to be safe is money well spent....
