Lymph Drainage
It feels really good. She said my entire lymph system is clogged. They scheduled me for 4 times a week for a month! Good thing I'm covered.
Can anyone possibly tell me the symptoms of lymph congestion? I have been having swelling under my eyes since this past summer- and for the past week or so it has gotten much worse. It's not really those swollen lines folks get under their eyes but more like the entire area beneath my eyes ( at the tops of my cheekbones ). It's getting pretty bad and I'm getting a little worried. My first guess was maybe my lymph system because I get the swelling after I eat and I know I have bad leaky gut ;-(. Thanks for any input.
I don't know if that is lymph, but my husband has that and it is exactly how you describe it. I have had lymph nodes in my neck and collar bone swell, that is why I went for the mld, and the lady felt all my other areas and said she felt congestion. I only notice it in my neck.
Thank you Sheryl. Well I wonder what is causing it? I sure wish I knew so then I could address it.
For about 3 months he went gluten free with me and it went away. He also has a purpleish looking color around his eyes that went away then. I wish he would do it again!
Wow- he must have food allergies. I already do the candida diet ( which is gluten free for the most part ). Too bad your husband won't stay on the gluten free diet...but most "regular" folks can't roll that way. Ha ha ;-)
I'm astounded that you have this covered too... interesting a HOSPITAL plan covers lymph drainage... very interesting indeed. Helps keep the hospital staff out of the hospital I guess ;)
What exactly does MLD stand for? Where are you having the drainage performed?
I really need some work on lymph. The llmd told me so on Tuesday actually, and I beleive it because I haven't been exercising worth a crap.
Keep us posted about how things go with this.
I have something called Full Free Healthcare at the hospital. Anything done at the hospital is free. It is the one time I have ever gotten any real assitance. They do the mld (manual lymph drainage) in the physical rehab center. Mostly its women who have had a mastectomy and lymph node removal, and have swelling as a result. The woman is doing my entire lymph system. Its very light and very relaxing. Today, she only did a very little bit to give me an idea of what it is like, and to get a feel of my swollen lymph nodes. I swear, the one I have been most worried about is already smaller. Amazing!!
Sheryl,
This is very interesting. Do you get tired after a treatment?
I feel more achey than usual (and thats really saying something, I always hurt). She said I might get worse before I get better..more lymph swelling, possibly a UTI unless I really pound water). It is so relaxing that I could fall asleep on the table, so I do feel kind of tired, but I think its a relaxation feeling. If she did it here, I would fall asleep right away. It is like that really soft touch that gives you goosebumps if that makes any sense?
your insurance covers lymph drainage!
wow
what the heck type of insurance do you have?
i have a very clogged lymph system. when i reound i usually feel pretty sick afterwards.
I have the full free health care at my local hospital. They have switched to MA health now, but I got in the day before the switch. It's the first time in my life I have had any kind of coverage.
Call your hospital physical rehap, see if they have MLD and ask how you can get some coverage, you never know! If you already have insurance, your doctor might be able to order some MLD at your hospital and that way your insurance will pay, unlike going to a massage therapist etc.. I guess the clogged lymph is why I ache so badly. Some days I wake up feeling like I did a strong workout, and I didn't. Its so weird!
Yes indeed aout the achiness. I have these crunchy areas in my ack and feet and my friend claimed it is crystallized lymph. I sort of elieve it actually eing that I have never heard a very good explanation for it otherwise.
I used to exercise A LOT even while ill with lyme and in the last 2 years have done very little. I think while a lot of exercise is not condusive, I have clogged the lymphatic system quite a it and really need to unclog.
I also sometimes wonder if c-salt works in the lymph system at all.
