Heparin
Heparin is something that alot of alternative docs are using because they feel that many of the auto immune problems are related to blood visuity. Thick blood can be a common problem. Heparin is not without risks. I would try many of the natural ways to thin blood like garlic, vitamin E, fish oil, bromelain etc. (ginko to and baby aspirin)) ONe of the side effects can be hair loss. I would want to research this first before trying it unless I had a serious health problem that warrented my blood needing thinning.
this is interesting. anyone tried heparin? how does one take it? is it only be injection?Antimicrob Agents Chemother. 2004 Jan;48(1):236-41. Growth-inhibitory effect of heparin on Babesia parasites.

We examined the inhibitory effects of three heparins on the growth of Babesia parasites. The multiplication of Babesia bovis, B. bigemina, B. equi, and B. caballi in in vitro cultures and that of B. microti in vivo were significantly inhibited in the presence of heparins, as determined by light microscopy. Treatment with various concentrations of heparin showed complete clearance of the intracellular parasites. Interestingly, a higher percentage of abnormally multidividing B. bovis parasites was observed in the presence of low concentrations of heparin. Furthermore, fluorescein isothiocyanate-labeled heparin was preferably found on the surfaces of extracellular merozoites, as detected by confocal laser scanning microscopy. These findings indicate that the heparin covers the surfaces of babesial merozoites and inhibits their subsequent invasion of erythrocytes.
Interesting... I know there are some concerns about heparin, all of which are totally excaping me at the moment. Some folks here are aware of them.
I was diagnosed with a hypercoaguabiltiy issue in November, and the doctor involved, who all TOO eager to get me on any number of IV's, rx's, etc, still recommended I be careful with heparin. He did offer me heparin injections... don't recall him suggesting an oral form. Instead I've been doing standardized curcumin and nattokinase.
This is interesting, though. Makes you wonder
I just read altas post below and see that they are using it for some other reason ,i.e. babesia. I hadnt heard of this before. I was familiar with the use of heparin in dealing with auto immune related jaw infections where the blood often doesnt clot normally.
