Liver Enzymes

liver enzymes
My daughter called me this afternoon and said a guy she works with was worried about his 19 year old son because he had raised liver enzymes. I don't have any facts other than he doesn't drink at all. Does anyone know if any supplements can help with raised liver enzymes. I will ask her tomorrow if he is taking any prescription drugs and specifically what enzymes are off, but in the meantime I thought I throw it out and see if anyone has an ino...thanks

there are various things that can cause this. I have had this periodically and then get tested again and everything checks out okay. Antifungal meds or any medication that affects the liver can cause this.Candida albicans can also cause this. I know a woman who has consistantly had high for months now. They did a biopsy and could find nothing wrong with her liver. It is good to get checked out thou.

Re: liver enzymes
Candida has caused my liver enzymes to be raised on several occasions. The elevation in enzymes apparantly signifies damage to the liver cells. A liver specialist told me to take Milk Thistle and I have found this supplement helps bring the enzymes back within the normal range. However I dont believe for one minute that just because the enzymes have lowered that my liver is functioning optimally. I continually have to provide nutrients needed to help the situation until of course the candida is cleared. You could just try the Milk Thistle alone - it does help repair the liver as my test results have proved.
