Candida First
Hi, Just curious what people think about curing it?? Do you think we need to get rid of the candida problem first or the leaky gut problem??
What products do you guys recommend mostly for healing the intestinal wall lining?? I've heard glutamine, primal defense, liver cleansing, and other suggestions..
Just trying to figure out how to heal it and wanted to get some advice..
I've done colonics, liver cleansing,
primal defense, three-lac, ultra-clear plus, and many others...
I just wish I knew how to get on top of this thing.. I'm so toxic from the permeable gut..
Thanks,
Dysbiosis is thought to cause leaky gut syndrome and Candida is part of dysbiosis.
Getting rid of LGS must therefore require healing the dysbiosis. In my personal experience, solve the dysbiosis problem and LGS clears up without further intervention
Steve,
How did you cure your dysbiosis?
First I chelated all the Mercury in my system, then I checked gut flora status, found the main groups that were missing and designed a therapy to boost the missing bacteria.
I tried this without chelation and got nowhere. After Mercury levels reduced, I was able to normalize gut flora fairly quickly
Steve, did your health decline begin with a prolonged courses of antibiotics, or can you trace it to amalgams?
My health began to decline very gradually. First there were headaches and cholic, then spaced out feelings after eating, then finally massive fatigue, heat intolerance, memory and concentration difficulties and so-called brain fog. Each time I got rid of the Candida with antifungals, the symptoms dissappeared, but each time I stopped the AFs, they returned within a few weeks, often with greater intensity. Once I got rid of the Mercury, the headaches ceased and one lot of AFs finally put paid to the Candida. It took 2 years of chelation to finally get Hg levels permanently down below the clinically accepted 'normal level'. In all I was ill for around 4 years.
How interesting. How did you know mercury was your problem though? Does a hair analysis give an accurate reading? I've often wondered about that but I don't think anyone has ever answered that question for me. I asked someone once for more info but they just dodged the question. Thank you Steve for any further info you can provide.
Kristin,
In my own case I believe I will struggle to get rid of candida while leaky gut is very bad because I have been very ground down by what I believe are leaky get symptoms.
Since taking slippery elm and glutamine my scalp and ear discomfort have improved (although no miraculous cure) and my levels of energy have also improved.
I hope that working on my leaky gut will allow my body's natural defences to play a part in getting rid of candida.
May I ask what brand of L-glutamine and slippery elm you are using? Thanks.
I am in Australia so brands may not be applicable, however the slippery elm is Wattle Grove. I have used a few different glutamine tablets, but currently it is Nature's Own.
Thank you. However, I am not familiar with those.
I did a series of tests looking for pesticides, environmental pollutants and heavy metals. When Mercury came up I did a more specific DMPS challenge test which showed mercury levels way above the 'normal' range.
Hair analysis, when done properly by a reputable lab should be a reliable method to detect increased heavy metal levels, assuming you are able to excrete Mercury. It is currently thought that many autistic kids cannot excrete mercury, which builds up in their tissues. This theory is based on the evidence that hair analysis of autistic kids very often shows surprisingly low levels of Mercury
It sounds to me like there are NO conclusive tests then. Thanks for your input.
