HCL

Harold
thanks for the infomation. I take Metagest with Pepsin and Genitan. It is a very good HCI just wish Metagenics was not so expensive. My nutruitional chiropractor says 95% of the people need more acid and I know I am one.
Thus, do you take the HCI before meals? I'll start using the sea salt again. I stopped as was allergic to the iodine but seem to be doing better with it now.

Are you candida free now? How long did it take you? I have to have a few simple carbs or cannot exercise. I cheat by eating 1/2 potato for dinner and 1/2 c. of rice milk for breakfast and 1/2 c. of rice milk for an afternoon shake. I also eat very small amounts of Quinoa and Brown Rice. I don't know if I will ever conquer this but am so much better.

Re: Harold
Sue;
Get your HCL from a Health Food store ie Betaine HCL with Pepsin,much better price and just as effective.
Very rarely do I have to take HCL now[if I do,15 minutes before meals,of course,] ;only when I fall by the way-side ,ie birthdays when I am obligated to eat junk food like Pastas,cake and ice cream.I am about 90% free of Candida,but if I junk out as above then it hits me again,that's why I keep probiotics on hand like Natrens Healthy Trinity.I believe it is not wise to try to completely get rid of candida 100% as it is necessary in the great scheme of things to do with internal flora.The good bacteria will keep the baddies in line which results in boosting your immune system.
As for potato,did you know that potato will turn to pure sugar faster than white sugar itself?;and it throws your insulin all out of whack.This puts quite a strain on your whole immune system,which is allready overloaded trying to fight Candida.
Do you know your Blood type?This can be important in your diet too.If you go to www.mercola .com you can take a test that will show whether you are a Protein ,Mixed,or Carbohydrate type.This is a good determinant as to the diet to follow.
PS;Iam in my 80s and have been fighting this for a lot of years,and feel better now than I did 30 years ago;no thanks to the Drs.!!!

Re: Harold
Hi Harold,

Wow! I didn't know you were in your 80's. I think it is fantastic that you feel better now than in your 50's and like you said, it is not thanks to the doctors. Probably most of the help you found was through your own research. I always appreciate your posts. You had mentioned a couple of books on inflammation in a previous post. Could you re-post that again?

By the way, I think that is wonderful that you are computer savvy in your 80's.

Thanks,
(formerly Pace)
