Fruits
fruit floods your body full of essential enzymes and vitamins. They are key in fighting fungus in your body.
Not with me. It feeds the yeast.
same here
I agree Kevin. I think too many shun fruit while still allowing grains, and the reverse should be the way in most cases.
After years of having no fruit and a little it of grains I could not agree more. I am now having a little it of fruit and no grains (with the occasional treat) and this causes no loat as do grains and is much tougher, which demonstrates in fact that I am actually addicted to the grains.
I would suggest for those starting out to elimianate grains and have a little it of fruit to get some cars.
Yes, I can also eat fruit but have problems with grains - although I tolerate a bit now lately.
However I think the reason is something to do with lacking enzymes and inability to digest starch, not necessarily the case with everybody
yea it is weird... i am still going at slowly ecause it freaks me out ut since i have read the fruit is more easily asored y the intestines (unlike milk and grain sugar), it makes a lot of sense to have small amounts of fruit and no grains.
have you read this?

i disagree, i think for people with severe candida, the worst thing you can do is eat fruit.
For that matter staying off grains then would e as or even more important. grains simply turn into sugar and are much much harder to asro ( http://www.pecanread.com/scdscience.html) than fruit sugar.
That said, for those with severe candida perhaps staying off oth is the est thing. All I know is that a small amount of fruit will not make me loat while grains do. I stayed off fruit for 6 years and finally am experimenting more with the SCD diet as I attle with lyme. I get no flares with fruit (nor did I with grain only loat).
Anyway, I think the most important thing is to keep an open mind: what works for one person may not for another. I am not advocating fruit, just sharing my experience with it.
Fruit or grains and yeast are the basic ingredients for all alcoholic beverages. Yeast ferments (digests)the sugars/carbohydrates contained in the yeast to produce carbon dioxide and ethanol
The liver can convert protein to glucose also. I actually recently switched to a no grain diet with small amounts of fruit and have had no flare of candida and actually feel etter. It is too early to declare the effects of this ut after 6 years of not eating fruit, I just felt like I was really denying my ody some very important nutrients.
Now I am on still a low car diet ut eat aout one serving of fruit or manuka honey to get some sugars and the rest are veggies and proteins.
the difference between glucose released by the liver and sugars coming from fruit is that liver glucose is only present in the blood and not in the intestine, whereas fruit sugars are present in the intestine and therefore capable of feeding yeast.
There's high probability that anyone with GI Candida overgrowth will suffer various dietary deficiencies regardless of whether they are on a Candida diet or not, simply based on the fact that dysbiosis causes malabsorbtion of vitamins and minerals
Good point.
I also have lyme and perhaps the candida is not as ad. Thus far eing on fruit has not een a prolem at all (causing no loating for example) although I don't eat too much of it.
I will let folks here know how it goes over the long term. Am still on c-salt and fast approaching 12 months! I still get pretty ad monthly herxes though not as intense since I started a regular coffee enema program.
So soon I will post an update aout the c-salt progress.
I thought that fruits cannot be used under an anti-fungal diet because they have too many carbohydrates? The good nutrients in fruit that are not sugars can then be incorporated with suplements? Any replies on that?
