Ferment Vegetables

fermented vegetables My Dr. wants me to take 50% soluable and 50%unsoluable and since I can't take the soy fiber I take Fiber Smart by Renew Life and really like it. When a friend had a colonoscopy and had polyps the Dr. suggested he take Citracel which is all soluable fiber.

Re: Sue
Thanks for letting me know what you take. I was thinking about trying Methylcellulose by Nutricology. I think it is Citrucel without the fillers.

Vita Biosa How to ferment vegetables?
Hi Tove,

Could you please tell me how you ferment vegetables with Vita Biosa? Are you buying cultured vegetables or making your own? Thanks
Connie

How to ferment vegetables?
I chop organic cabbage, do not rinse, put inside big jamjars 2 litres, on top use a large cabbage leaf as "lid" inside the jamjar to avoid the small cabbage bits to float up. Add one spoon salt for 2 litres. Pour over boiled, cool water and some Vita Biosa. On top place a drikning glass filled with water to press the cabbage down. It is very important that the cabbage is completely under water. Three days at 20 degrees celsius, shorter for warmer days, longer for colder days. You will her a "blip" now and then, when carbondioxide disappears. It should smell fresh and have pH around 4. Use any glass ware that is food grade. Do not use plastic or ceramic unless it is made for sauerkraut.
Cabbage is easiest, but you can add any vegetables almost.
