Moldy
Thanks for all the info. I wouldn't doubt that the house they are presently living in is full of "something or other". It always smells moldy when I go over there. It's about 50 years old and even had the old fashioned wiring. I doubt if they would get anything checked as they are building a new house on an adjacent lot. Any suggestions for safety in a new house? They are getting wood floors on the bottom level, which is supposed to be safer ultimately than carpets, but they will have carpets on the upper level. I doubt if they would spend too much money on anything extra. Right now they are just concerned with the money involved in getting what they want in the house. I think unless you or one of your children have been sick you don't take environmental stuff very seriously. Right now, she is their first child and she hasn't been sick at all so they assume everything is all right. If she hasn't calmed down by the time she gets to school they may think differently!

I will definitely pass on the info about the shots though. I can't believe these drug companies and the medical establishment can justify putting mercury into these tiny bodies....We KNOW what mercury does!! I've worn contact lenses and my eyes would always burn horribly before they had thimerisol-free saline solution. I guess enough people must have complained for them to do something about it. Unfortunately my eyes are one of my problem "candida" areas so I don't wear them much anymore.

Re: Environmental Concerns
Hi Judy,

When we took the carpeting out of my kids room, the wheezing and asthma went away. The more reduced allergens in our home, the healthier the kids got.

As I learned about vaccines, I opted out of them for my youngest who didn't get one ear infection or have one asthma attack. The others had constant ear infections and asthma problems. Just to compare, the one without the vaccines is healthier than the kids who got vaccinated. I do worry about the diseases that immunizations protect against and hope I don't regret these decisions later. (You always want to do the best for your children.) Today, the mercury and heavy metal induced dangers outweigh MMR, DPT. (I did have a single tetanus after one of my children stepped on a nail).

My old Pediatrician and I discussed the vaccine issue. He was pro I was con. He said, "If your child is vaccine damaged, it's unfortunate, but statistically acceptable. That is why there is the vaccine compensation fund." This is why he is my OLD pediatrician. Statistically acceptable??!!! What kind of garbage is that??? It's UNacceptable to me. It is something entirely avoidable.

As far as your the new house building, new construction is often hazardous to health. There will definitely be a period of strong outgassing. Maybe your granddaughter can stay with you during that time? Safer choices are real wood versus pressboard, low ordor paint and water based varnishes. Adequate ventilation for good air flow. Tile floors versus vinyl.

We visited a bed and breakfast that had an expertly done addition. By looking you couldn't tell which was the original and where the new addition began. However, I could tell instantly just by walking through it. The air quality was much poorer in the addition. It was just as if an invisible wall existed between the two areas.

Re: Environmental Concerns
Hi Judy,

Sorry the above post is kind of choppy. I'm having considerable brain fog and trying to type in spite of it. If something doesn't make sense, just ask and I'll try to clarify.

I tried to say that the more we reduced all allergens in our house the healthier our kids got.

I also tried to say that my kids who were vaccinated got tons of ear infections and had asthma. The one who wasn't vaccinated never had any ear infections and never had asthma.
