Candida Skin

I do know all of this information that is on the website. I think I know a little bit too much medical information. Maybe if I never found/read all of the stuff I know now, I wouldn't even have any problems and symptoms!
It seems that Candida is usually patches that are easy to scrape off and leave red, tender (sometimes slightly bleeding) areas underneath. My tongue, instead, looks like the papillae are just white and maybe longer. I have a postnasal drip that could also cause the white, and I have discovered tiny red dots on my soft palate, which means I probably have strep throat. I HOPE it is strep throat and nothing else. I suddenly felt my cervical lymph glands today (right behind the jaw joint), and I have never felt them before. Especially the one on the left. It's a bit smaller than a pea. I read that this size is normal for the glands... but I have never felt them before, not even when checking my neck for swollen glands. And I feel a bit scared, because strep throat seems to only cause the glands in the front and sides of the neck to swell, but I don't think that "sides of the neck" pertains to the cervical nodes...
Anyway, cross your fingers for me... I have a high chance of not having any real problems... I just need someone to think positively for/with me!

Thanks. American companies would do me less good than British, since I am in Europe. Eastern Europe, however, so I don't know whether I can locate anything of the sort. I am taking effervescent vitamins, grapefruit seed extract and a probiotic. These should, hopefully, help me. And now I am starting to think that right now I have no problem other than, probably, strep throat (my tongue is white and I have small red spots on my soft pallate).

Still, I got an HIV test and I will soon see the result.

Nicola, can you get a rapid strep test done to help you in knowing what you do have? Strep can involve red dots but for our family has also included an intense sore throat, fever, and white squiggle looking lines as if painted on the tonsils/throat...and from the onset we always felt quite ill(and then the little lines in short order turned to gobs). Some people are carriers without actually being ill themselves but can have some obvious signs that can be noticed with a well checkup. You can have the red dots and white tongue and redness/swelling of the throat from sinus issues which often go hand in hand with the digestive tract that actually begins there and exits at the bottom(it might be as simple as something needing a little time to resolve from taking the antibiotics earlier). One of my sons has had the pea-sized swelling you've described...and with no active disease or allergy issues. We were told to remember that lymph doesn't have an organ like the heart to circulate it and it would take a little time for swelling in that particular area to reduce. The actual cause could have been weeks or longer before they were even noticed. No one wants to discourage you but we are helpless in really knowing that it isn't strep without someone testing you. You will only be guessing...and possibly wrong, too. Do they sell those type tests at the pharmacy...not sure whether they do in the states either. Hope you feel better soon! :-)
