Systematic Candida

systemic candida I HAVE BEEN RUNNING A FEVER FOR2 WEEKS 99-101.4 I WAS HOSPITALIZED AND THEY FOUND SUSPICIOUS SPOTS IN MY LUNGS AND A PULMONAARY SPECIALIST WAS CALLED IN AND HE SAID I HAD ACID REFLUX THAT WAS ASPIRATED INTO MY LUNGS AND STATED I HAD A CANDIDA OVERGROWTH WHICH COULD CAUSE PROBLEMS.
I'M NERVOUS BECAUSE HE STARTED ME ON DIFLUCAN, AND MY INITIAL LOADING DOSE WAS 800MG, AND 400MG TO FOLLOW DAILY FOR 1O DAYS. I NOW HAVE A RED PATCHY CIRCULAR RAISED SPOT ON MY INNER FOREARM. HAS ANYONE EVER HEARD OF SOMETHING LIKE THIS. THE MD DID SAY BECAUSE I ALSO HAVE SLEEP APNEA THIS INCREASES THE REFLUX AND COULD MORE EASILY ASPIRATE THINGS INTO MY LUNGS.
SOMEONE TALK TO ME BECAUSE ALL OF THIS SOUNDS BUGGY!

Re: systemic candida
Karen,

How odd as I am currently going through the same thing as you. They told me I have LPR (acid reflux) and it aspired and went into my lungs and I had walking pneumonia. I have also been told I have systemic candida. I am going to try to go herbal vs. using Nystatin or Diflucin and I heard that is just a bandaid and it comes back as has for me in the past. I think the trick is to cleanse your system and I am going to start on a program with Dr. Michael Biamonte. It seems a bit expensive but his site makes sense. With the relux you may also have Leaky Gut Syndrome and parasites, like myself. Good luck.

Re: systemic candida
Karen,

I'd be thankful you have a doctor who recognizes the Candida doctor and is prescribing the right medication. I know of a woman who was treated for cancer but who actually had a fungal infection of her lungs. The doctors put her through a horrendous operation which was totally unnecessary. Imagine doing surgery instead of a diagnostic test to rule it out.

Re: systemic candida
Hi Karen,

Hang in there, I feel so bad for you, this candida thing is the pits! I was on difllucan for a week, at a smaller dose. The important thing is that they monitor your liver function. It does make you feel a bit loopy at first, but that may subside with time. The patch on your arm may be yeast. I have gotten incredible acne which is painful on my forehead every since I had this candida problem, and I treat it with acne cream which seems to work. But it keeps coming back. Bottom line is they caught it and your doctor seems with it enough to recognize it right away. Most people respond well to diflucan that is it works on the candida. Stay strong, and let me know how it goes.

Re: systemic candida
If it is Candida then it could be ringworm??! When I started antifungals all my ring worm came back but it soon cleared up again.
