Candida Phenotype
When starved of carbohydrates, candida simply switches phenotype from a budding yeast to a more invasive hyphae producing fungus whose filaments penetrate the gut wall and feed on glucose from the capillaries. For this reason, a Candida diet should NEVER be undertaken without antifungals. The AFs should be commenced at least 1 week before the diet is started
I'm convinced no matter how long you've stayed on a sugar-free diet, yeast goes dormant and waits weeks, months, years to come back as soon as sugar ore yeast- feeding food reappears. (For me, peanutbutter is worse than sugar for feeding yeast--I rarely eat peanut butter --once every five years. I had a small amount recently and it "woke up" all the yeast into a frenzy.
Yup! Yeast morphs. Been there with the AF and diet. Did nystatin, diflucan, lamisil, combo lamisil/diflucan. Followed no carb, very low-carb then low carb, then med. carb diet. Yeast outsmarted and outwaited them all.
It morphs to reach all the food it needs and lives happily ever after.
Hi, What symproms did you ger after eating teh peanut butter? Was it just one serving and the yeast came back? Is it possible that you are having an allergic reaction? My yeast and allergy symptoms are similar, so I really have to think and assess to know what I am dealing with. People DO get better w/o antifungals!! If your capillaries aren't full of glucose-laden blood, the hyphae will die too, no? As a type 1 diabetic, believe me, I was full of morphed fungus. Key is sitll to get healthy so your body won't support the beasts.
Unfortunately, if our capillaries aren't full of glucose-laden blood, our brains will die a lot faster than the yeast, which simply morpgs again into spores, which leave the GI tract altogether in search of organs sweeter
Oh, of course - I guess I wasn't thinking (about blood glucose). But, I still don't believe that you can't cure hyphae candida. I am recovering. Unless I am mis-interpreting what you said, which is entirely possible, :)
Yes, you can get rid of Candida, but only when you get rid of the reason why the Candida is there in the first place, then rectify the changes the Candida causes.
A sugar free diet will not get rid of Candida, rather it will simply cause the yeast to metamorphose into its fungal form.
As examples, if the Candida is present because of too many antibiotics, then you need to get rid of the Candida with AFs and diet, then adjust GI Tract pH, repopulate with probiotic therapy, avoid all foods to which the Candida has caused intolerances and treat any immune system incompetence
If the Candida is present because of heavy metal toxicity, then first the metals must be chelated and immune system incompetencies rectified before AFs and diet are used to get rid of the Candida...followed by pH adjustment, repopulation of gut flora etc.
Hi, I got Candida through overuse of anti-biotics. Unfortunately using AF and doing all the things you mentioned hasn't restored my health. There were a few times I thought I was cured but it didn't last. Candida outwitted me.You wrote "As examples, if the Candida is present because of too many antibiotics, then you need to get rid of the Candida with AFs and diet, then adjust GI Tract pH, repopulate with probiotic therapy, avoid all foods to which the Candida has caused intolerances and treat any immune system incompetence
Hi, What sort of immune system investigation was undertaken and what therapy did you use?
i am with you on the anti-fungals. i don't think they are necessary at all, and in fact, think they make the problem harder to deal with. but like everything else, this is just an opinion, and reasonable minds can certainly differ.
