Candida Diet

What do you eat for breakfast?
As above, candida diet?

I struggle most with breakfast! I normally end up with brown rice (cereal or rice cakes) or eggs?!

What do you all eat?

Ever try an omelete with veggies of your choice(I've added onion, garlic, shredded cabbage, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, red/green peppers, asparagus, etc.)? When more in an unbalanced candida experience, I'd even heat a piece of chicken with steamed veggies from the dinner meal of the day before and have that. Wouldn't go for a heavy meal for breakfast but it doesn't have to be a meal of typical breakfast foods. Experiment! :-)

Yeah veggie omlette is what I quite often have if I'm at home in the morning but when I have to work (I start at 5am) I end up taking rice cereal or rice cakes!
I do find it pretty limited so just asking for more ideas!! :)
I'm not sure if I can eat parmesan or not really - the only cheese I have tried once or twice are goats cheese and organic cottage cheese - they seemed to be okay?
I am always worried about eating too much of other things and not enough veg for breakfast!!
I also do fried courgettes sometimes, on their own or with an egg added on top - that's quite nice!
And I am sometimes naughty and get organic unsmoked bacon with veg!!

When I had candida severely late 80's early 90's(had evidence of kidney involvement via testing by a teaching hospital physician), I'd already been doing the starvation candida diet(only got worse by doing so...not eating a variety of foods can tip a person already with nutrient absorption problems into greater malnourishment). It wasn't long before the doctor had me eating carrots and whole grain cooked cereals and brown rice and those things that some avoid like the plague. Gradually even included rice syrup and pure maple syrup. Won't say it didn't provoke symptoms(some disease crisis and some healing die-off crisis). It did but gradually I felt better and symptoms were eliminated.

Almond butter is good on rice cakes. Fish for breakfast is great. Salmon cakes made with salmon, crushed crackers from the health food store and eggs and seasoning was often eaten reheated from the dinner meal of the night before. Maybe you can make up something the night before to be reheated in the morning? Don't think mold in the fridge would be much problem for such a short time(I have an ozone device and have little problem with that anyway if something is left in an extended time). You are very fortunate to be able to be still working. So many folks that come here are home or bed bound. Happy eating and good health days to you very soon! :-)

It makes me feel better about my diet. I did say to myself that I would rather not keep it so strict even if it takes longer to get better as I find it easier to keep to it like that. I feel I eat an exceptionally healthy diet and I keep my carbs low.
I love almond butter and I do have that on rice cakes! Must admit I hadn't thought properly about fish for breakfast which is a good idea! :)
I know I am lucky compared to people on here - I quite often say that when I am posting. Somehow my body didn't get as bad as it could of. I hope I can cure it!! And I hope everyone on here gets better too!!!

Hi! Everyone has to decide the best route for them. There used to be a poster here...Dyl was her name. She used diet and Apple Cider Vinegar and healed over a couple of years(me thinks or maybe more than that). You can search for her posts by usng the purple "Browse Archieves by Keywords" box above...input Dyl. Just keep pressing forward! :-)

Speaking of meals, how do you keep from losing too much weight? I am having a hard time maintaining my weight (which was low to begin with)...I react to avocados and nuts so there aren't many options. Do many people eat cheese?

When I was at my worst, I ate the strictest diet in hugh amounts(a friend visited once at lunch and laughed at me for eating cut veggies from a porcelain mixing bowl as part of my meal...the size you'd mix bread dough in) and still looked like skin on bones. Had to sit on an extra pillow because there was no meat on the bottom. Once I began adding foods back in and the flora headed toward being balanced, I gained though the food intake was lessened. :-)

I don't know really - I lost a stone and a half to start with which took me down to 7st (I'm 5' 5"). I have stabilised at just under 7 1/2st now.
I am lucky that at the moment I can tolerate avacodos and just about nuts. I also have root vegetables sometimes like sweet potato and parsnip which I know push my carbs up but I have small portions occasionally. Other than that I don't know - I suppose I use a fair bit of olive oil and organic butter and almond nut butter??! It is very hard - I was worried when I lost a stone and a half so quickly but as I said it seems to have stabilised and I feel okay at this weight now.
