Vegan Diet
I have had candida for five years and sometimes I feel like I'm deprived of eating a healthy, cleansing diet like the vegan diet because the carbs feed the yeast. I feel like I'm loading my body with toxins from animal-based foods just so the yeast won't grow, although I feel those foods are unhealthy. Is anybody here eating a vegan diet and successfully fighting candida?
I was vegan for years and it really didn't do me any good. Grass fed red meat made a HUGE difference for me. I started eating organic dairy and reading information from Weston Price and Jordan Reubin.
Wrong, wrong, wrong.VEGAN diet is the way to go;THE ONLY WAY TO GO.Meat is acidifying, mucus forming, blocking;boy
oh boy ,I wonder what world you people are
living on...
It's common sense,it speaks for itself,IT CRIES OUT LOUD.Eat what you were initially intended to eat and you'll get well.Short term, long term, whatever term.Don't listen to those losers, corpse eaters. You'll be the next Daniel, perhaps even Samson.
Daniel? Go back and figure out WHY Daniel refused to eat the food of the king and you'll understand the passages are not proclaiming his choice THEN as dietary law NOW. Afterall, have you read further in the Book to see that meateating is lawful...even to the point of believers eating meat previously sacrificed to idols? If anyone is going to point to the Bible for a dietary protocol, the whole picture truth should be examined before pointing others to application.
In terms of a balanced and sensible nutrition Vegan is at one extreme, the other being the typical American processed junk food diet. Neither results in good health.
just wanna say, i agree that long term probably puts many folks out of balance, but going vegan for a while can actually be very healing for some. if you think about it, disease reflects an imbalanced condition... the quickest way to correct an imbalance can be going in the opp. direction. according to sherry rogers and richard schulze and others, some folks have healed amazingly with 'extreme' diets.
btw, rogers suggests eating meat till a person is clear of candida, then trying macrobiotics for a year or more. she also believes that our 'ideal' diet will likely evolve over time as our conditions change. for example she went macro for four years and said it was the most profound healing thing she ever did (even more so than antimicrobials, environmental controls, allergy shots, saunaing - which all helped a lot)... then she started to feel out of balance and knew that it was time to return to meat. by then she was pretty damn healed and could stay that way by eating more 'in balance'..
I know many ex vegans who regret it so much. Especially that they raised children that way. You don't get enough vitamins. There is NO "only way" no matter what you are thinking about. Diet etc..you must be either very young, or you have been vegan too long. You seem to be digesting your own brain.
There is no one diet, one lifestyle, that suits everyone. I think that arrogance leads us to believe that 'our' way is the best way. I believe that we each need to find our own diet. I have also heard many vegans say that they have regrets, and have suffered from deficiency. There have also been some that have sworn off meat and couldn't be happier. There are others that say that grassfed will heal you. I didn't tolerate grassfed at all. I think that it is misleading to the newbies to propose a 'one size fits all' diet and supplementation program for this illness.
it has been hard some times watching what imo are sort of misleading posts over the years... but i think most folks honestly have no idea the radical ways in which we differ, despite the common threads and root causes etc. it s/b obvious tho that people have healed with a varied array of diets / modalities / timelines, so what sense does it make for anyone to pretend otherwise. i wish rainmaster would put a sentence like this up top for the newbies.
btw, i was sooo happy to read that you have been getting a bit better with the ypeace stuff. i can see it in your posts.. you sound better :-)
Yes, I agree that a button for the newbies should be placed up top. It would be so challenging to start to weed through the archives if one is just getting started. Yes, I have been slowly feeling a bit better. I do owe the ypeace site for some of this progress. Please update me on how you are. Are you trying any new treatments?
hey penny, thanks for asking. well its been a grueling few months, but i am hanging in there. just been hit with one crisis after another, which is why i've been away from the board so much. my hubby herniated a disc so i have had to care for him : / he is doing better, though not totally out of the woods yet... i'm just praying that one of us can hold down a job.
i've been blessed though that my energy levels have - hold onto your chair - been skyrocketing. i think its because i've finally eliminated enough layers - with baby steps, you know - not that i've done anything really special or noteworthy. real salt and calcium have been giving me a lot of mileage lately, after years of sensitivities and severe deficiencies. i've also been able to add a few more veggies and supps that are giving me more strength...
my lovely tumor has been shrinking with red meat and nut avoidance, adding clo and castor oil, more walking and veggies - which has meant energy work, detoxing, fatigue, etc..
so despite feeling perpetually exhausted and overstretched, i guess i am doing ok. i really hope to get back to posting everyone soon, if life ever 'normalizes.' i've been desperate for a good stretch of r & r... and today i need to gear up for another scented mcs nightmare party...
btw, you had asked about weight and candida. i wanted to share with you that candida totally made me *gain* until i discovered afs and the candida diet. so i sympathize! its insane the way this illness has messed with most of our weights.
here's to a healthier 2006 for all of us!!!
