Gaining Weight

Is there an end to all this Candida? Hello. After months of going to see several doctors (who were clueless), I finally found a doctor in California that performs blood tests to determine if one has Candida. The test came out positive. I was wondering about how long does it take to get rid of it? I have only been suffering the symptoms since January 2006. Is this Candida thing a life sentence? Will it ever go away? The doctor put me on the diet and gave me some digestive enzymes, a liver detoxification powder, and omega 3 pills. I've lost a lot of weight (about 25 pounds). Does anyone have any suggestions on what to eat to put weight back on when one has Candida and a mold allergy? Thanks so much in advance for your comments.

Butters have always helped me maintain a healthy weight. That is: almond butter, sesame butter, cashew butter, ghee. They're healthy, don't feed the yeast, and have both good fat and protein. I eat a lot more protein in the form of meat and eggs, too, compared to my pre-candida diet.

I've had mild candida since December, and I've definitely improved by following the diet, taking antifungals (Rain Tree's Amazon A-F is fantastic), and probiotics (one Bio-K every day). I'm not 100% yet, but I am confident that I will be within the next couple of years if I'm strict with myself.

I think getting 100% cured really depends on the extent of your problem and how long you've had it. If it's relatively mild with few symptoms, like mine, I believe that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks for your comments. How successful have you been with Bio-K?
Has anyone else tried it and have had success with it? Thanks.

I get the Bio-K from a local co-op for about $20 a 6-pack. Not cheap.

If you want to get cured of Candida, you must take a probiotic as part of your ongoing treatment.
