Food Toleration
I really wish there was a way we could all get together and try to laugh about how sorry our lives are. It would be fun to have a "candida social", with healthy food, but a few drinks mixed in and then the next day we could all complain about our hangovers.
Anyway, I know how you feel about missing those events and not feeling a part of life. If you have time, can you list what foods you eat on a regular basis. I know I can't eat the following foods (off the top of my head) avocados, corn, corn chips, soy milk, lima beans, potatos, nuts and nut butters and grains, (except for a small amount of spelt)There are many others, obvious and not so obvious, that have caused me to lose ground and have to start over . IMO ALL of these foods will feed candida, even though some websites say they are o.k.
The key is starving the candida without starving yourself, which I am still struggling with. I found some all natural sausage, but you can only eat so much of that.
It is strange how some people can tolerate foods that others with candida cant. When first starting the diet, I tried spelt numerous times and I have very bad cerebral reactions from it. If I have to eat bread for some reason(which is rare) I actually do better with plain white. I know that everything about the candida diet says contrary but with me, the heavier the grain, the worst the reaction. I also get very bad reactions from sauerqraut and the natural probiotic foods that some are having success with. Substituting carob for chocolate is another disaster for me as I tolerate chocolate better. I do much better sticking to a diet that I have found to be acceptable for me. I try to be pretty strict with diet but allow myself to go off in social situations.
