Candida Diet
Hi, Regarding this post by you: I'm still researching avocados and candida and came across a site that says not to eat any fat, instead eat lots of high sugar vegetables. Supposedly the fat turns to sugar in the blood feeding the candida. If I did this, I would be dead.
I can honestly tell you that it is NOT true. I am following a new candida diet and am having lots of great results. The diet is very specific and very strict, but it works. I have not felt this good for years. The diet is actually high in fats, protein, and very low in carbs. We eat lots of fat--butter, coconut oil (5 tablespoons a day), olive oil and fish oil. It is the therapuetic dose of coconut oil. I eat no grains, or dairy, no fruits except lemon water with sea salt 3-5 times a day. We eat lots of meat--beef, chicken, turkey, fish, even bacon. Lots of eggs. Also included is fermented foods. I've read that you eat alot of those, Brett. They are great aren't they? I make my own. I make kimchee, saukraut, and just made cabbage rejuvalac. I can't wait to make more varieations of fermented foods. Could you tell me the combinations in the ones you eat? I'll try making yours also. Anyways, the fat is so good for you and it is an antifungal and healing in the gut. I am so greatful for finding this dear lady who is healing so many of candida. I've just about reversed everything I had wrong with me. I feel 10-15 years younger. I lost 26lbs. Went off my blood pressure meds, my sugar is fine--no sign of diabetes. No fibromyalgia, no IBS, arthritis. I feel flexible and look so much better. My brain fog is gone, no headaches and my female problems are almost cleared up. That seems to be the last to go. I've been on this diet for 5 months and have 3 more to go. A month for every year you've had it. So, I just wanted to tell you that fats are good for you. Just stay away from vegitable oils, margarines and shortening. I can send you info if you are interested. You really should try making your own fermented foods, I can send you some recipes for that too.
I'm so glad you are feeling better! How is your Bladder? that sounds so silly, lol...But from one UTI queen to another, I think its a legit question! :)
AWESOME!!! Great news! I am so happy for you. This sounds pretty much exactly like the way I've been trying to eat also. I do pretty well if I can stick to it, but I do crave carbs and break down at times.
I can't afford coconut oil anymore so I switched to the milk, but I think it fed the yeast so I will probably have to cut that out.
The cultured vegetables saved my life, but they are expensive.
