Anti-Candida Diet

candida diet
I am sorry to hear that things are so rough. I have been there and I sometimes wonder if life will always be accompanied by a series of unpleasant symptoms. Now that I have been at treating myself over 5 years, I think I would have done some things very differently and perhaps these suggestions will help you or others.

Before I knew I had lyme, I was gravely ill and got much better simply by following an anti-candida diet. The problem was that I lost a lot of weight very quickly releasing tons of toxins in my system which caused some further damage. More than anything else we do, liver support is key. I should have supported my liver way more then and now I think I am doing something more appropriate. Right now I am taking lipo-gsh, sam-e, milk thistle, turmeric, and tmg all of which are good for the liver. I do some coffee enemas and hopefully one day will do a flush. So whatever I did, I wish I had done liver support very consistently throughout and right from the start. I would say this is more important than killing anything off.

Prescription AF helped me a lot but since it made some things worse, like insomnia and had no impact on my fevers, I knew that candida was not my only problem.
Not to mention once a month I would get really foggy, which I think was lyme releated.

If you are not getting better on a strict anti-candida diet and AF, this is probably not the only problem.
In retrospect, I would have not taken prescription AF until I got a lot of the lyme under control. Then I think it would have been more effective. I still think of taking them but only when most of my lyme symptoms are under control.

So lyme: before doing c-salt two things that helped a lot were Olive Leaf Extract and chlorella. I am not sure if the OLE is working perhaps on some other virus or lyme or yeast but it helps and I would not do without it. It helps however only in large quantities, like 1500 mg a day. I think that many herbal supplements requires a high quantity to make an impact.Armour thyroid is key for me and I get depressed and tired if I don't take it. Have you tested your thyroid via morning basal temperature? If it is low, I would start armour. This can turn around the fatigue almost immediately. I think I would be disabled with out it.I wish I had started taking a high quality chlorella product the day I got sick. It helps mop up toxins and basically stopped my hair from falling out which was on going for years. I bet other similar substances would work well too like spirulina. Since being on the c-salt for 5 months, I have to take less, which is sort of a shock but promising. But the dose is still pretty high, between 6-10 grams a day.

I wish I had known about the metals WAY long ago because I would not have eaten all the tuna I did and perhaps started mild chelation, or the Andrew Culter protocol. No way would I do a DMPS challenge. I am looking into finding a doctor that may do TM-DMPS which is way safer and perhaps this is an option for you. But I am trying to lower my bacterial load but I do from time to time do a round of ALA ala culter and of course am always taking chlorella to mop any metal released during bacteria/candida die off and the high dose of vit C I take.

Last spring I did about 4-5 rounds of ALA and it seemed to help. I have done 2 this fall and am due to do another one.

Finally, committing to a treatment long term is very important for lyme or anything like it, including candida. One of the things I find exciting about the c-salt protocol is that is allows me to stay on it for months, possibly years. I have never seen a lyme protocol whether abx, rife, the marshall protocol, that does not require consistent long term application and there is the question of finding one that works for you. I cannot handle abx of rx af for more than 3 months which is just not enough The c-salt seems to be ok so far and I am on 8 grams a day and have been at that dose for around 2 months now.

With c-salt I think I found something that I can stay on and while it gives me bad herxes (which confirms that it is working in my opinion), it gives me long periods of relatively ok health where the worst problems are stiffness and some swollen lymph nodes and some afternoon concentration problems. Otherwise I am ok until the next herx hits. This is the first time ever I am staying on something more than 3-4 months for my lyme and I hope that because of long term treatment it will have a positive impact.

I would suggest really trying to find out if you have lyme or its co-infections. If you do and are not treating it, it is not likely that the anti-candida diet or flushes will cure you. If you have lyme there are a number of resources, ranging from c-salt to the marshall protocol that you can try. I can't remember if you tried c-salt but if you did and got a reaction, that may be enough confirmation that you have some critter that the c-salt can address.

I still don't know if it is a cure but members are still reporting some very good effects. Those who do best either did a lot of other modalities before or did aggressively detox and cleansing during the protocol. I think things like acupuncture and chi-gong can help a lot.

I am not sure if this is helpful at all but I hope you find some modalities that help stabilize you. I hope in fact that we don't see you here because you will feel much better!!!

I really appreciate your notes. It seems your brain fog has cleared :-) I will print and save your notes.

Regarding Salt/C, I did get a reaction but supposedly from taking too much all at once.

AF and diet help. I think I did the diet too strictly for a while and may have hurt myself not getting other important nutrients.

I'm unable to respond more right now. I hope to finish my post tomorrow when I'm hoping to feel better. Insomnia has kicked in big time for me, so I'm taking Benadryl in hopes I can sleep. I think the insomnia is a stress response. Also, I'm all broken out which is usually yeast flare. I forget which chemical it is that floods the system under stress. The yeast love it.

Thanks for posting that. Those type of posts are very helpful to everyone. I am also an advocate of olive leaf. I dont even need to take alot to get results with infections.I am wondering still how people know that they are getting results from salt c.It seems like people are getting re actions from it but not really getting well. I guess I would feel better about it if more people were actually reporting results instead of just re actions but maybe I am misinterpreting what folks are writing about it. I agree that if you dont have a problem with sodium or high blood pressure, it is a good modality to use long term becaus it is not harmful. Someone posted I think on this forum that adding salt to liquid acidopholis helped the acdopholis kill yeast. Do you have an opinion on whether or not lyme actually is a causitive factor in candida? I can see it co-existing if you are taking antibiotic therapy but I am wondering if it is part of the package of lyme independent of antibioitics?

thanks for the response. so actually one thing I am struck y on the yahoo groups for c-sal are the improvements and cures not just herx reports.

I mean I was on other lists such as ax ones and I rarely saw people claim ig improvements like i see with c-salt.

At least every 2 weeks there is a postiive report and in the last moneth 2 folks left entirely ecause they are cured and 1 has pretty much said she is fine ut has stayed on.

Today there was a new post.

I mean even if she never is cured, she went from eing deathly ill to so much etter.

For me, just getting good sleep is enough to warrant the treatment ut I have a feeling after a year or two on it, I will see ig improvements esp if I add other modalities. Also I would react very strongly at first ut that appsed. Now I seem only to herx monthtly. I have not had a really ad one since the three month herx and I imagine the 6 month one will suck. But h well, it is has een ok for 2 months which is not so ad.So as per the candida. I think anything that screws your immune system can make candida grow amok in your ody.

But for me, I had candida and metals I am sure for most of my life. I have suffered on and off from depression and ADD since 12. And I think it set me up for lyme. So it came efore not after and I suspect that is true for many lymies.

How is your son doing? Have you tried c-salt again? Liz also I never got a sense of your symptoms. Are they there ut allow you to function pretty nornally? Or does it impact on your aility to do stuff? Or does it alternate?
