Brain Fog Symptom
I have almost ALL the symptons for candida (for men), but the one that is the worse is "brain fog". I am a scientist and need to use my brain fully. Well... very hard with a foggy brain.
I would like to know how brain fog happens to most of you. To me, it was the very first symptom. It started two years ago in front of the computer... All the sudden... I could not keep watching the screen, or could concentrate to write a single sentence... very strange feeling, accompanyied by strong craving for food... I needed to eat... then it would disappear partially but came back very soon.
Now, after having been under the diet and anti-fungics (natural) I was feeling very well, but (perhaps because I decided to do nyastine for 10 days at the end of the natural anti-fungic treatment) I have very strong brain fog (even though I stopped Nyastine three weeks ago)... which, again, it disappears with food...
I would like to hear other descriptions of brain fog by other sufferers, and most importantly, what things they do to overcome it...
Thanks very much.
Brain fog was the symptom I hated the most. It felt to me like being in a dream, unable to concentrate on anything.
Acetaldehyde is a fungal waste product.
Dr. Stephen Cooter states that "Candida is responsible for flooding the system with an accumulation of toxic acetaldehydes. Acetaldehydes are known to poison tissues -- accumulating in the brain, spinal cord, joints, muscles and tissues."
as the liver converts acetaldehyde into acetic acid it reaches a saturation point, and some of the acetaldehyde escapes into the bloodstream, inhibiting normal mitochondria function and reaction, causing membrane damage, stimulating the synthesis of collagen to form scar tissue, and causing nasty hangover symptoms such as increased heart rate, headache, and nausea.
The neurons of the brain are the most adversely effected by acetaldehyde poisoning, which impairs brain function by interfering with the activity of neurotransmitters within and between the neurons. Acetaldehyde impairs memory and has been shown to be responsible for the amnesiac effects.
I would suggest bowel and liver cleanses, alkalizing (urine ph between 6.4 and 7), mineral supplements including trace minerals, green foods, enzymes, herbs for liver, replanting and balancing the microflora in the gut with cultured food products, check out Kefir.
Don't get impatient, it takes time to turn things around.
