Defecation

Defecation
Well what else was I going to call it?

I don't suppose you've seen "sharde of white stuff" in your stool have you?

Lord above only knows what's going on in my small and large intestines!

Someone answered...
Yes, in fact it is not terribly uncommon. Many with Candida have see these things. I have seen them in mine. It was part of my healing process. But, like mentioned above, not everyone has seen it. It is most often seen with a "forced" BM, like when using an enema.

Someone answered...
I pretty much get it all the time, whether I've done an enema or not.

So what actually are these white chards? And is it a good sign? Does it mean my candida is sadly departing?

Cheers.

I noticed it a few times while on this 30 days of diflucan (only 2 more pills!!). I assumed it was yeast.

Ok....this is a big question for me. I have been on the candida diet for about 4 weeks now. Slowly I have been getting rid of starchy veggies. I still sometimes eat them because I am scared the yeast is going to morph and change phenotypes on me.(Reading from earlier captions described by Steve& Brett) I am rotating antifungals(oil of oregano, garlic, and pau d arco) I eat brown rice, quinoa, amaranth, chicken, turkey and lots of veggies.(occasionally lean beef). I definitely have had die-off because I feel like I am not getting better but worse! All my candida symptoms(itching, etc.) are still REALLY BAD! I also now have developed bad headaches, nausea and achiness. HOWEVER, I have still not seen any fluffy fuzzy white in the stool. I have loose bowels but haven't seen any yeast yet. Is this normal? I am questioning whether I am having die off because I would expect to see something!!! I am very confused!!!

Don't panic, and don't worry about what's in your movements. I never had anything like that. Keep doing what you are doing, except I would be careful of the rice and grains, no matter what kind they are. Also, take it easy on the supplements. I am convinced that taking too many of these is a bad thing.

p.s. IMO, getting candida under control takes as long or longer than it took to get out of control. Also, look for signs of improving health by looking at your skin? Any blemishes going away?

Thanks so much for responding! Actually, for some reason I haven't gotten the acne symptom. My skin does feel smoother the last couple of weeks but I thought it was the vitamins that I am taking. My worst symptoms are female related, and itching of some sort on my feet. I also have had alot of problems with dandruff, gingivitis, athletes foot, dry mouth. There are more problems I am sure, but these are the big ones. I have not had any relief with any of these things since I have started the diet. I have been really trying to keep the starches to a minimum. I am hoping in the next couple of weeks my symptoms will start to subside a little bit. My doctor has me just taking one antifungal pill a day for a week and then switching to the next antifungal for a week ....and so on. She was talking about starting out small so I think she is watching that I don't overdo it. Does this sound like a good program to you? For the adrenals she has me taking VIT C, B complex, cytozyme-ad, L-tyrosine, and my prenatal vitamin. Thanks for putting my mind at ease...I guess just because I haven't been seeing any fuzzy white cotton in my stool doesn't mean that it isn't coming out.:)

You have a doctors help? Wow, that's good I think. Is she a ND or MD?

Many of those symptoms you listed ,(which I've had also) should clear up in time, but it may take alot longer than you expect. If they get worse and stay that way, I would lay off the supplements and focus on diet. This is what worked for me. But I think the most important thing is food elemination. Finding the foods that feed the yeast in your body. This is difficult but can be done. Also, I swear by the cultured vegetables. They've been the greatest miracle I've found yet. Hang in there. It takes an immense amount of patience.

Yes I do have a doctors help! After jumping from GYN to GYN it took me a long time to diagnose myself. I wasn't getting any help. They would either find nothing or they would find bacteria. This is what threw me off. I suspected systemic yeast for 3 years but because they never found it in my cultures, I would listen to them. They would tell me I needed an antibiotic and I would take it. After the birth of my son last February(had a c-section), it really threw me over the edge. Within 5 months, I had 5 antibiotics. Once I really started getting books out and learning about candida, I realized that all of my other annoying symptoms (dandruff, athletes foot, toenail fungus etc.) were all connected. When I would even ask my GYN if they would order me a stool sample to see if candida was present, they would tell me that they didn't do that type of test. Anyway, I found a holistic doctor that is also an MD. It is very expensive because even though she is an MD, the insurance companies won't pay everything. But I was literally desperate. She is in the Baltimore/Washington Metropolitan area USA. She is a general practitioner. I don't know where you are from but so far she seems pretty good. My husband and I now can't believe the practice of Western Medicine. They look and treat whatever is under the microscope. Not once was I ever asked how many antibiotics I had taken in the past and what they were. Not once was I told that during the antibiotic treatment I needed to take probiotics. Then it got me thinking. The more the patient gets antibiotics, the sicker he becomes! HMM.....the patient keeps returning....and as a result....MORE MONEY!
I want more children and I am just so scared because it means another c-section and a fight with the doctors that I don't want an antibiotic. I just have to get this taken care of first.

That's great that you have a regular doctor who even believes in candida.

Well that's funny you mention the skin clearing as a sign of improvement because lately my skin has been lovely with no redness and acne bumps are drying up. Although I never had tons of them, but always kept a few large ones here and there ( don't you hate those?! ) Is this something you noticed when your health started to improve?

My first sign of candida was on my hips. It started about 10 years ago as a little red welt, like a mosquito bite. Over the years, they slowly started showing up under my armpit area, and on my rear. All the warm areas where the sun doesn't shine. Anyway, the worse this rash became the worse I felt and the more my list of symptoms increased.

Then FINALLY one day after years of misery, I stumbled onto candida and diagnosed myself. After just three weeks on the diet, all of my skin problems cleared up. Including an infected thumb that would never heal.

The mistake I made was adding forbidden foods back too fast, which caused me countless setbacks. I think I've finally learned what I can and can't eat. It's really that simple with me. How about you? What symptoms do you no longer have and what symptoms bother you still? Are you learning what works and what doesn't?

Someone answered...
Gosh, i would have to think on it for a while---I've been battling this for so many years now. I managed to get rid of chronic back pain ( due to extremely congested bowels ) and I have gotten rid of chronic vaginal bacterial infections ( due to this darned dysbiosis ). All the other symptoms are a work in progress ;-) How interesting the diet gives you so much relief. I can't say that for myself. It only keeps me from dying! lol. I've been on it for close to three years now *sigh* :-)

Someone answered...
Hey don't feel too bad, the diet helps me function but I would be a real mess without it also.
