Which anti-fungals?

Anitfungals? How did you get your candida under conrol? Did you take anti-fungals? Which anti-fungals?

I am allergic to so many foods that supplements are my main source of energy. Today I tried Aloe Vera again to clean the villa but I am allergic to it too. My food isn't doing alot for me. Any ideas?

I take alot of Vitamin C. One of Shaklee's five hour tablets at every meal.

The Metagenics Iron Formula has many other vitamins and minerals in it for absorption but no C.

I've had candida to the point of debilitating twice. The first round(years of antibiotics and reproductive hormones) had me go from doctor to doctor(even those that used supplements and nutrition) until I was referred to a doctor at WVU hospital. The candida was found to not only be imbalanced in the the digestive tract and reproductive organs but also the kidneys...I was one sick puppy(slept an hour a day, crawled to the bathroom, heart raced sitting still and raced even more in walking from the bed to the sofa, back pain so bad I often slithered from a chair and laid on the floor and cried, and reactive to every food. So reactive that one candida doctor suggested I eliminate ALL food except buckwheat in the hopes I could have a respite and be able to slowly reintroduce.). Nizoral was taken along with diet changes(elimination diet initially but foods were gradually introduced over a year and a half of treatment. Reintroduction didn't come without symptoms of cleansing and healing. Staying severely restrictive with good foods is counterproductive.). That also was the time I was introduced to herbs over vitamin supplementation...back in the late 80's/early 90's.

This 2nd round(I am not reactive to sugar or junk food, per se, but generally eat for wellness as I enjoy those foods tremendously), a double course of ZPak antibiotics for dental work put me flat on my back. I had since moved to another state as did the doctor that helped me previously. Trying to find a doctor in a new town with a problem such as candida superinfection from medicine use wasn't easy. One offered to let me "try" Nizoral but he said I needed to understand that doctors don't believe a person gets sick from antibiotics and it wasn't the accepted protocol of those in his field(a disclaimer to protect himself in case my chart was ever read by his peers). Doctors want to medicate each symptom with drugs or synthetic nutritional supplementation(if you land with that rare breed) of some sort rather than get to the root of the problem. Both are taxing to an already taxed body. So, on my own I was mostly the second round, even though I had documentation with the first round from a highly respected doctor(the WV doctor was head of his department, a medical researcher and author, and I believe he had a fellowship...one smart cookie) and I knew what had happened with me(actually knew it would but needed quick intervention for a bone infection that was the result of a poorly replaced dental filling), being with myself 24/7. Had been anemic(hormone shift after a surprise pregnancy surfaced a fibroid...before candida I'd been through fertility treatment without being able to be provoked to ovulation) and was dealing with a rough chiropractic experience that wrecked havoc in my weakened condition.

First and second round included the use of herbs introduced, sustained, and eliminated as best for circumstances. I've used slippery elm for healing and nutrition, alfalfa(known as king of the herbs...alfalfa, dandelion and kelp taken as a combination is recognized by many herbalists as a vitamin/supplement substitute), capsicum, goldenseal(lowers blood sugar which I was dealing with but used with caution along with a non-goldenseal combination, Lymph Gland Cleanse HIGS from Nature's Sunshine), dandelion, kelp, yellow dock, oregon grape, olive leaf extract, black walnut, garlic, aloe, ginger, red clover, cascara sagrada, marshmallow...I'm sure there were others but names that come to mind with quick recall. I used mainly Nature's Sunshine products because that is what a local health store offered where I used to live and where I had personal help learning about herbs. Raw apple cider vinegar, raw honey, and rooibos tea have been very good for my digestive tract wellness, too. I'm not going to get into the debate over liver cleansing with colonics but will say that johng and others that recognize the value of cleansing and supporting the body regardless of the method(Moritz, Schulze, herbs, diet alone) walk on a path that leads out of a dark and dense forest. Foods...herbs fresh or encapsulated...have properties that cleanse in addition to being supportive of body function. As such, they can provoke a cleansing/healing reaction which folks have to weigh against a true allergy(and aren't food allergies a result of a body gone amuck?). If you have a chance to read the Bragg book, Bragg Healthy Lifestyle/Vital Living to 120/Body Purification, Toxicless Diet, and Healing System, you'll see the mention of this. Some folks are so toxic that they have to introduce one new food/herb at a time and patiently and slowly navigate forward through the crisis that is sure to result. The body is amazing. Chiropractic and massage are helpful to many seeking wellness...all the good foods and herbs in the world aren't going to optimally do their job if the body system pathways are hindered. A chi vitalizer has helped me muchly the second round(http://www.allaboutmassagers.com/app/product/238).

You CAN make it though I can't say that the exact order that I did things is what you will have to do. Generally, cleanse and build/support(remembering the body wasn't designed to be sustained or heal on synthetic fuel sources)...slow and steady...onward and upward...and you will get there like others have(Dyl, over several years, healed only with foods...she hasn't posted here for a long time).

2 books that helped me on herbs(and diet/healing crisis, etc.) are: The How to Herb Book and The Little Herb Encyclopedia. http://bragg.com/books/books.html has book excerpts online, too, if that so interests. The health guru doesn't heal...your body has the ability designed within it that only needs unrestrained. Each of has to learn to listen to our own body, stop doing what made us unwell, do what promotes wellness...and all with a positive attitude that is part of being healthy.

Long...I know...and not very well presented in trying to condense much info. Hope something helps! :-)

If you have limited brands available at your local health food store check out supplement web sites. Many carry the brand's entire product line that is far is excess of what almost any store can carry.
