Systemic Yeast Problem

My doctor just put me on Nizoral for my systemic yeast problem. I just wondered if anyone has had good luck with this antifungal?? Is there anything I should watch out for with this antifungal like side effects??.. I've taken nystatin and diflucan but not this one.


I took nizerol on three different occasions. The first time I took it, it semed to help for a while. I stopped and the symptoms returned. When I started up second and third time, I had reactions when I would eat. I did not feel well at all and think that it made my allergies worse for a while.


I have had all the drugs you mention. My experience is that neither Nizoral nor Diflucan have any impact on the digestive system (they are too quickly absorbed into the bloodstream) thus are of limited benefit. They may resolve local problems (such as vaginal candida) for a while but unless the digestive system is impacted problems return very quickly. My experience is that the only drug that impacts both the digestive system and the rest of the body is Lamisil.

I had no side effects from Nizoral.
