Lyme Co-infections?

What is the best way for my husband and I to test for Lyme/co infections? I know you have mentioned the Igenex lab. Will my MD know what to order from them, or do I need to know what to ask for?


In all likelyhood your MD, unless an LLMD wont' know aout Igenex. Here is their wesite http://www.igenex.com/ and you will see there is a section on what la tests to take.

I am sure will have more specific advice. Often you will only test positive only after starting some treatment. Or some folks don't test positive for lyme ut do for one of the co-infections and once those are treated they do test positive.

Hopefully he will give more of an answer.


I am willing to bet my doctor will know about Igenex now that I think about it, he uses great smokeys etc..he is an MD but also quite holistic and studied in China and Japan for many years. I'm so lucky to have him! I have an appt in a week for acupuncture so I'll ask him all about it.

There are new indications that -azole meds like diflucan disrupt how the body handles vitamin D, and in turn that disrupts the survival of Lyme bacteria.


That is so interesting. I had been planning to start taking fish oil for the D. Perhaps I should't until I get the testing? Also..how do you know all these things? It's amazing!


Years of dealing with it myself has forced me to do lots of research. I've been down the candida road, but it seems Lyme might be the culprit.

I have seen this a couple of places. Dpd's doc ut him on diflucan indefintiely. I want to try Diflucan again ut only after I give the c-salt a long run so that when and if I take it, it will hopefully work!

Thanks. I have gone from being tired of being sick, to scared all the time. I know I'm not alone there! The thing is, I'm almost 100% better than I have been for years..just this heart issue (just? lol) and UTI's. I wish I could wave a wand and cure everyone who has ever posted here!
