Anitbiotics - Finally!

There is a great article in the new November issue of Discover magazine about how antibiotics are killing us. I'm only half way thru the article, but they are discussing the importance of good intestinal flora and that upsetting that balance can cause irrevocably damage. (candida) Discover is always first on the scene to report these kind of issues.


Yes people are really coming around. There are new laws keeping antibiotics out of animal feed now too! I LOVE antibiotics. I get frequent UTI's so they are a real blessing to me, but you are so right, they are way over used. Colds!! My friend went and GOT them for a cold. That doctor should be shot!


They are also SAVING peoples lives.

Without antibiotics, thousands would be dead from Lyme and other tick infections. I would be dead, without them. I am back on them again, something I never wanted to do again, but I am dying again, and hopefully they will help me again, because NOTHING else was....
maybe in the future I will find something else besides them, but for now, without them, I would be dead.

As well, Many with lyme had there candida improve from antibiotics, figure this out! EIther the lyme is in the intestines, causing the candida to flourish, or supressing the immune system.

I know this is a candida board, but antibiotics saved my life, they also caused severe candida, but severe candida is nothing like severe lyme...


There is not doubt that they are a miracle drug and save lives. BUT, they are being used way too often. You should read the article and see how the bacteria are mutating and sharing genes to become antibiotic resistant. Soon, there won't be ANY antibiotics that work against some bacteria, it's just a matter of time.


yes it is obvious for everybody who has followed this site for some years how important antibiotics has been to you. But there is a "time and place for everything". Antibiotics is today used for everything in a fashion of "lets try". For example earpain in small children (don't know English word): som many can get well by themselves, by stopping to drink milk, by adding good bacteria to strengthen their immunity system etc etc.


I also may be needing IV antibiotics, and am so scared
of this. The IV Rocephin, may be
what I am going to be getting, and
this drug has killed some with lyme, because of allergic reactions, but
only a small number, it mostly has saved peoples lives. Some it made them a little better, others,
not much, and others was THE turning point in getting their life back.

Here I am, on long term antibiotics,
NOTHING else worked for me,rife did not work, salt c made me 10 times worse, nothing, even drinking my own urine, that is what I did to avoid antibiotics, did nothing. Never thinking this to be where I would end up, or believe in, but sometimes, we have to do, what will save our life.

Time and place for drugs, just like herbs.


Have the doctors do a skin test first before administrating the Rocephin. They can test you for allergic reactions.They did this with my son. I am a firm believer that antibioitics are way overprescribed and that alternative methods often can and should be used when necessary. bu t, I also believe that antibiotics are sometimes crucial in cases where herbals are not strong enough. I have had to resort to antibioitics many times when trying to treat a uti naturally and nothing I tried would work. I still always try the herbals first as sometimes it would work. Would it be possible for you to get some type of oxygen treatment while on the Rocephin? I would also continue with the natural things you are using. My son is taking alot of natural anti-fungals during this treatment. They also gave him nystatin. It is really important to have your liver enzymes checked periodically while on this drug as well. Milk thistle or another herbal for the liver is helpful to take if you can tolerate any of these things. I wish you the best Jeannie as you have certainly been thru alot.


I was thinking WHY they would not design something like this,a method of testing the drugs that are toxic and cause some to die from, instead of giving people a drug that SOME have died from because of an allergic reaction.

I would get it vega tested if I get it done, will see.

I am getting some more lyme tests done now, and a babesia test done.
