EPD Shots & Allergy Symptoms
Hi Tove,
Three days after my second EPD shot i nettled my hands quite bad, then after the first week i couldnt stop sneezing, REALLY POWERFUL CONTINUOUS sneezing, with an itchy, blocked and runny nose, sore eyes etc, it has just dawned on me that it is the mould in our en suite, but it is INSIDE the wall cavity, i remember seeing the yellow wool had turned black when we repaired a damp wall a couple of years ago, now i reallise that when it is windy these symptoms flare. All i can think is that it says in EPD literature that a shot can make allergies worse if you encounter the allergen before the two weeks are up, i think this is what has happened. Did anything like this happen to you? Do you think it will have spoilt this shot for the foods?

The mould may be inside the wall but the organic mycotoxins it produces will have the same concentration on both sides of the wall.
Steve, The inner wall was damp because the outer wall is tiled, it is above a door and i think the tiles let water in, the plasterboard was soggy. I have observed that it is MUCH worse on windy days? immediatly on getting back into bed after using the en suite my nose runs and gets congested and i get continual sneezing, since stopping using the room these symptoms have improved. Is there anything i can do about the mycotoxins in the room? Thanks
Ann
The problem with mould is that certain species release very powerful mycotoxins, which over time can wreck your immune system. Indeed some moulds are powerful that once your immune system is shot they can invade your lungs and cause life threatening illness
The healthiest and safest would be to have a builder remove the damp wall and insulation and with it the mould and its spores and remediate the bathroom so its no longer damp. Windy days probably release spores to which your immune system and mucous membranes react
Steve, I think EPD activated this mould problem. I have sealed the room off with tape for now and none of my family use it, i will get the wall/insulation sorted out if i dont improve after my next EPD shot, i just seem so ultra sensitive to everything! Thanks Again

during dry spells, mold releases the vast majority of spores... the spores are then reactived when it becomes moist again.
oh no! England is so moldy, isn't it? We should all move to West Sahara, apparently the best air is there.
Anyway: I also reacted various times to things because of carelessness, but it always passed again, and it never made any difference to how it wokred on the rest of the foods. FOr example once I ate so much lettuce I had a problem with lettuce for some months, another time I entered a second hand bookstore and the dust was really powerful. Also this was OK after a while.
Possibly next time you take a shot you can stay somewere else for the first week? A tent in the garden? West Sahara?
But don't worry extra, it will pass.
Thats good that one mistake didnt spoil the rest of the foods for you, this is what worried me, i feel more reassured now.
Hope your keeping well Tove. Thankyou.
Ann
